Chapter 2

I had woken up from a long nap to my grams shaking my solder. We were finally here, I was back in the outer banks again. It seemed that nothing really changed around here.
  "We are almost there Lily, just going to stop and get gas." Grams said as she was pulling in to pump gas.
  "I'm going to get a snack inside grams" I told her while she was pumping the gas.
  "Ok but be quick" I looked back and nodded.

I opened the poster covered door to see many snacks,drinks, and other things that would be in a gas station store. As I walked up to the counter to pay for my snacks I caught a slight glimpse of a blond haired boy around my age, he was a little taller than me and had blue eyes. He looks familiar, I thought to myself. Maybe he was just one of those people that looked like other people. I reached the counter opened my wallet to only find a five and some change.

   "How much was it again?" I asked knowingly that I didn't have enough.
  "$10.15" the man said with no patience.
"Is there by any chance that you could take a five?" I asked
"Listen kid if you don't have the money you can't get it" the man started pushing the snacks away.
"Come on man I've been driving with my grams all night can't we jus-"
"Girl it's not my fault your broke now get out of here" his face turning red with frustration. Before I could walk away the blonde haired boy stop in front of me and took out some money.
  "Here $10.15, ain't that right Bobby?" he looked at me and winked then back at the man.

  "You know one day your going to get in some serious trouble JJ" the man said taking the money and putting the snacks in a bag.
  "Ya, well then I won't be surprised when I do" he smiled and took the bag and I followed him out the door.
   "Hey dude thanks for that" I said then took the bag from him,
   "No problem, and besides I wanted some twizzlers" he said jokingly while he took the candy out of the bag. I laughed as he tried to open the package.
  "I'm Lily" I said with a smile and then opened the package for him.
"JJ" he looked at me in disbelief that I had been able to open the twizzlers with now problem.

"You know I used to have a friend that was named Lily, but she moved away six years ago" he looked down at the ground and his smile faded and then he looked back up and took a bite of the twizzler.

  "Wait what's your last name?" I asked him
"Maybank?" He said confused. I looked at him in disbelief  I tried to speak but there were no words. It was him. It was JJ.
"Why?" He asked with a concerned face.

I looked at him and said, "Well It's just that I told you I would come back one day" I looked at him and he looked back at me with shock.
"No your messing with me! It can't be!" He was yelling in the middle of the street.
"Its me JJ!" I yelled back. He grabbed me and hugged me tightly, his arms felt so comforting as I hugged him back.

I couldn't tell weather he got lost in the moment like I did because we were still standing there hugging. With my face berried in his chest and his hands around my waist.

We finally pulled apart.
"Well I have to go my grams is waiting for me in the car" I said pointing at her car.
"Ok. Hey does your grams still live at that old house by the beach?" He asked walking away backwards.
"Ya why?" He looked at me with a smirk and said,
"You'll see" and then he turned to walk away properly.

I got in the car and told grams all about what just happened. I was so excited and happy that I already got to reunite with my best friend.
"Yes I've seen him around,he as grown to be very handsome, but he gets in a lot of trouble" grams said with a slight smile.

She started the car and we were on our way to her house. What did he mean by "you'll see" what was it supposed to mean? I had blocked out the thought of my parents from here on out and was only going to have fun. I mean I am in the outer banks after all.
