Chapter 10

When me and JJ got back to John B's it was starting to get dark, I guess we were gone a while. Pope and Kie had already arrived so all we had to do was wait for the bonfire to start.

We got out of the car and headed inside. Before we could take the first step onto the porch the others had already came out.
" You guys ready to go?" Pope asked stepping down off the last step.
  "Is it already time?" I asked.
  "We'll almost" Kie looked at her phone and back at me.
"Ok then yah" I smiled.

We got in the van which John B called the "Twinkie" and head toed the beach, that's were the bonfire was.

"So Lily how was it picking up JJ?" John B asked while driving me and JJ were sitting across from each other, he was sitting next to Pope and I was sitting next to Kie, we both looked at one another and then I spoke,

"Um, nothing exciting just parked out side honked the horn and then he came out." I lied again. I couldn't believe how much I was lying. But it was for JJ, I could tell by the look he gave me.

"Yah she texted me before she got there" he said smiling at me with relief.
"Huh so nothing big?" Kie looked at us back and forth.
"Nope" I said shaking my head.
"Unless you call stopping to get snacks is big" JJ lie too. We didn't get snacks.

The rest of the ride was full of laughter and thrill. When we finally got there John B was handing out the drinks to people that where arriving. After a I had a couple of drinks Sarah Cameron arrived. Sarah came with her boy friend Topper.

"What's she doing here?!" Kie seem bothered.
"Well I mean it's a bonfire that everyone comes to Kie" I said sarcastically.
"Kie just ignore her" Pope said putting his arm around her shoulder. Kie immediately took Popes arm off her shoulders and walked away mumbling something that I couldn't understand. I decided it was best if I didn't ask what was the problem with Kie and Sarah, didn't want for Kie to be in that position.

After an hour or two it was about mid-night and I was a little drunk. Me, JJ, and John B were talking when an also drunk Sarah comes over.

"Lily I heard you were back" she looks at me.
"Can I help you?" I asked annoyed.
"Oh no I just wanted to ask you if that girl was alright?" She says
"Excuse me?!" How did she know about that!
"My dad was talking to your grams yesterday she mentioned it I think" she smirked
I wasn't going to let her know anything more and I couldn't let anyone find out. So I did what a drunk teen would do. I slapped her.

She bent down in pain holding her red face. Then she brought herself back up and tried to swing at me, but before she could JJ had stopped her.
"Hey listen you Kook get your girlfriend ok" JJ was talking to Topper. During that things began to get fuzzy. I don't remember what was said but people were yelling and then Kie came to check on me. That's when things became more clear.

I look at Kie who was looking at the drunk boys. I looked over and just then John B had punched Topper! They started fighting and got closer to the water. Before I knew it Topper was on top of John B holding him down. Topper was drowning John B!

"HE'S DROWNING HIM!" I yelled out
"TOPPER LET HIM GO!" Someone else yelled.
It was probably one of his friends. People kept shouting to let go but no one was doing anything.

"I'm going to stop him" I said. I felt a hand pull me back.
"No you can't you'll get hurt" JJ said. He looked drunk too.
"Well what are we supposed to do?!" I yelled.
JJ looked at Pope then at Kie.
"What?" I asked.
"Just stand back ok"
"JJ NO!" Pope yelled but it was to late.
"POW! POW!"

JJ reached into his pants pulled out a strange shape. IT WAS A GUN! JJ had a gun. And he fired it! When he did he yelled.
"EVERYBODY GET THE HELL OFF OUR SIDE OF THE ISLAND!" Everyone ran.

Topper had stopped drowning John B and ran.
But John B never got up.
"JOHN B?" Kie yelled out. No reply.
"Oh my god." She said and we ran to him. We pulled him out of the water and checked his pulse. He was still alive. Just unconscious. He started to wake up and we carried him to the van.

We all got in and started driving away before the cops came. There was silence and John B was still resting. Pope was driving, because he was less drunk, and Kie was in the front with him. Me and JJ were watching John B in the back. Everything was calm until,

"JJ what the hell were you thinking!" Kie said
"Hey it worked didn't!" JJ said
"You brought the gun JJ you idiot!" Kie said back. They kept on going back and forth until I couldn't take it anymore.
"Hey! Just stop ok! JJ it was a stupid move," I said, Kie looked at him with a look that said "see" and then,

"But it he also helped Kie! No one could do anything! So on the other hand it was the best move." I looked at Kie.
JJ clapped his hands and then pointed at me. Kie rolled her eyes and looked away.

"What started the whole thing anyways?" Pope asked. I looked at JJ with an expression that was begging him not to say anything. He looked at me and then said,
"Um, you know Im to drunk to remember." He smirked and winked at me as I smiled at him.
