Tw: child neglect lmaooo also she talks about the sewer slide thing ahaha and there's yelling and drinking and shit 😎✌️
Allister POV THIRD PERSON:"What do you mean they're home?"
Allister sighed, turning the conversation over in her head. It didn't make sense. It had been months.
Why the fuck hadn't they come home until now.
Why was Landon so upset.
What did he do to fuck up.
Allister assumed it had something to do with Florence, he fucked up with her the most, always drinking, yelling, being like their father. Allister might see her father in Landon, but she did not see her mother in herself.
Julia was insufferable. Allister was even the slightest bit more sufferable.
The street where Allister always parked her car came far too early.
She felt bad for having to leave Toby's on so short notice, leaving Juliet with people she barely knew. Allister would get out as soon as she could, she'd get back.
She slammed the car door shut, the car Allister paid for, not Landon, not her parents. She made her way to the large townhouse, like most the other ones on their street, with their cars parked out front. Allister wondered if any of the other families on their street were as dysfunctional as to leave their child, 16 at the time, unattended, with a drunk.
Probably not, but you never know.
Allister hesitated at the door knob, knowing she could just turn around, go back to Toby's, say she didn't know her parents were home, no, they hadn't been home in 6 months. No, they didn't refill her medications. She paid for that herself and forged her father's signature. Yes, they neglected her.
Deciding that would be a bad idea, Allister pushed the door open surprisingly silently, kicking her shoes off. She passed the glass door of her streaming room, seeing the wooden floors with the white carpet that got kicked around a lot.
Allister took a deep breath, pulling her bags closer to herself before walking into the kitchen, shoulders back.
Julia looked at her up and down. Johnathan gave her a humorless smile. The business trademark, it ran in the Sanderson blood. Landon had it down. Allister had it down. They used it without thinking about it. It gave people an uncomfortable feeling, they don't really want to be near them after seeing that smile. It was great.
It didn't work on any of Allister's friends, jackasses.
"Where have you been?" Julia asked. It wasn't a question, common misconception. She tries to make it sound like one, but it's a statement.
"At a friend's."
"For two days?"
"It's been way longer than that." Allister scoffed.
"What, is this your boyfriend? You've moved in with him?" Johnathan laughed.
"No, it's Juliet, and there's 3 boys there, Tommy, Toby and Ranboo. We're all content creators, except Juliet." Allister elaborated blandly, setting her bags down on the stairs and getting a glass of water.
"Content creators?" Julia challenged.
"Yeah, it's my job. How do you think I held this house for the six months you weren't here? I'm 17 now, mom."
Julia scoffed. "And how much money do you make doing that? I bet Landon's keeping you from drowning."
"Way more than you ever will." Allister muttered.
