General POV:

Tommy's soft breathing against Allister's back rung through her ears as if he was a giant. It wasn't an unpleasant sound, she'd fallen asleep to it so many times before, but it still felt loud in the empty room.

Tommy loved Allister. He knew this.

And Allister...assumed she loved Tommy. She didn't know for sure.

She felt like even though they'd been friends, even more than friends in a way for months, the idea of her loving someone felt so different, so far away.

So unlike anything she'd been used to.

Allister had no idea if she lived Tommy and she never knew if she'd ever even figure out if she did or not. The two could get married and live together for years and she'd probably struggle saying "I love you too."

"Allie?" He whispered.

Allister almost startled up, she thought he was asleep. "Yeah Toms?"

"Your hair smells nice."

"Thanks, Toms. Your hair smells nice too."

"I like the shampoo you're using now over the lavender one you had a while ago." He murmured.

Allister chuckled. "Thanks, I do too. That's why I bought it, Tommy."

"Hmm." He hummed. It was clear he was tired to the point of being delusional.

"Tommy?"

"Yeah Allie?"

"I love you."

"No you don't, not yet."

"Am I dreaming again?" Allister whispered.

"It's time to wake up, Allie."

Allister sat up abruptly, seeing Tommy still fast asleep. She sighed.

Maybe, maybe, Allister did love Tommy. Yeah, she probably did.

(A/n: Jesus Christ I'm watching Annabelle creation and crying dear god fear pain crying fear pain sobbing crying throwing up sliding down wall it's okay it isn't night anymore nvm pain pain pain)

But still, the question was, would she ever admit it.

*^*

It's like most Allister's life was centered around dreaming. In her dreams, she could do anything. She could see anything.

Or she could see nothing. She could spend her night running around a dark void trying to reach a target she didn't even know existed.

Today, tonight, whatever time it was, Allister didn't know anymore, was some in between ground.

A gigantic frozen lake stretched all around her with no end in sight. Tommy was skating around her, like this was a memory, or I guess.. memory of the future? An ideal.

But her ideals were realistic. A lake so huge you can't see anything at all other than frozen water isn't realistic.

Deciding to go along with it, Allister extended a hand to Tommy, surprised when he denied it.

Slowly, the ice on the water turned a familiar grey, and her entire mind filled with the color like a flood.

She shut her eyes tight, not wanting to deal with this shit today, but ended up opening them in her streaming room at home, the lights off, her monitor glowing in the discord dark mode grey.

Tommy's character lit up green as he laughed at something Allister couldn't hear. Her knees were pulled into her chest and her chair was rolled in very close to her desk.

"You should go to bed Allie." He mentioned at some point.

"No you should go to bed."

"I told you first."

"I'm not going until you go."

"No! You go!"

Allister laughed. This always happened so frequently between the two. They would fall asleep at their desks, worsening the already horrible streamer back problems they definitely had.

It was insane they hadn't ended up dating sooner.

Her chair and set up melted away into a circular kitchen table, a white table cloth thrown over it and a small vase of flowers in the center.

"Remember that time we got on an empty subway in New York and just danced for a while and then realized we missed our stop?" Ranboo laughed.

Juliet held her face in her hands. "I try not to remember that."

"I thought you two had DIED!" Toby shouted. "I'm not supposed to feel old but that night I felt the years melting away from my life. It was like shedding skin."

Allister gasped. "I knew you two would end up dating." But no sound came out. This was an ideal. She couldn't speak.

"Hey, Tommy and I had our fair share of embarrassment. Remember that thing where I was carrying him around in the airport and someone asked why I was carrying my father cause of how much taller he is than me and then saw his face and apologized?"

"I don't want to talk about that. It's not my fault you look so much like a child!"

"I do not look that much like a child!"

"Juliet and Toby look the most childish out of all of us." Ranboo cut in.

Tommy and Allister agreed.

"This is fucking slander."

"I don't give a fuck you're my girlfriend I can slander you all I want." Ranboo cursed. RANBOO. CURSED.

And then the scene disappeared again. It faded back into an airport, where Allister hugged Tommy tightly, crying a bit.

Tommy hugged her back, grinning.

Ranboo was carrying Juliet on his back and Toby was leaning against the two, all clearly very jet lagged.

They were in Germany, Allister knew. This was Germany. This was a place Allister felt at home at even though she never lived there.

And then they were hugging again at the lake. Not the frozen one, the lake. But they seemed content. Allister felt content, not threatened, not afraid.

Tommy didn't let go of her, and she didn't let go of Tommy.

Tommy didn't have any kind of cloud covering his face of hovering around him like a looming cloud describing what he was to Allister in her mind.

It was just Tommy. And it was amazing.

Allister didn't love the 'friend (?)' or the 'crush' or the 'boyfriend' that always felt stifling, she just loved Tommy.

And in all her memories of the past and the future that held Tommy, his "label" melted away. It was just Tommy.

And it was wonderful.

Allister loved Tommy, and she'd find some way to tell him, somehow.

It didn't matter when, it didn't matter where, it didn't matter how.
