*social anxiety is rising*

You know how that feels like :DD

Damn. I hate that feeling, don't you?

I've been struggling for years but I managed to cope with it.

No cap! 🚫🧢

Hate to admit it but I'm a very anxious and silent person.

I always over think.

"Did I just fooking stutter?!?"

"What do I do with my hands?!"

"Stop staring dammit! Y'all hate me this much?!"

"Oh yeah- wait, now what!? WHAT WAS MY PURPOSE!?"

Those thoughts... hehehe 🥲

Okay for real now, if you relate then this is for you.

1. Don't give a damn 😎

A lot of think that our audience, especially our teacher know what we're talking about and so we feel inferior as we stand in front of them.

Then we simply... panik :D

But I'll tell you what.

When you're studying in college or university, you will be holding presentation every week.

You'll get used to it.

Preparing yourself at a young age is the best way to start doing a sick presentation.

Yeah they might have a small hint on what you're talking about. But that doesn't mean they know exactly what you're about to present.

The key to a successful presentation is to simply🔑:

Not give a freaking damn and
focus on yourself.

I'm aware that this sounds easier than done and that here are people who struggle more with anxiety than I do.

But mate, we need to overcome this both.

I don't know who hurt you or made you feel inferior from the majority, but you're amazing.

Simply, because you are still standing and moving on 👍

I don't know you but that goes the same with the people who don't even try to get to know you better.

They're missing out.

I mean, not everyone will like you or me, let's get thsi straight.

You can't please everybody so why worry?

Instead, shine over them!

Who knows, maybe you will become more interesting to some people or inspire someone who is just like you. 😊

So please don't hold back because of your fear from judgment.

Shine! 🌟

2. Keep your presentation simple👌

Nothing sucks more than gathering informations and digging further, just so you can impress your people.

Sure it's always a good thing to get to know your topic a little better than anyone else, but please don't just copy and paste what you believe sounds 'smart'.

○ Instead, inform yourself and write down the most important points, less complicated.

○Also in a PowerPoint Presentation don't write too much text. Just keywords. 💡

○ Not too much pictures -> make it professionally 🎓

3. Plan ahead for extra time 📅

Yes, the earlier you start the more time you have for preparation.

How to prepare yourself:

○ Revise your notes/ flash cards 📝
○ Think about what you want to share, not what they want to hear 🙆‍♂️ it's easier if you find something you find interesting to share about your topic
○ take the time to present in front of a mirror 🪞 (sounds silly but this helped me over come fear of speaking in front of people.)
○ record yourself (audiotape) or take a video 📹
○ Act as if you were telling a story💫
○ Mark your mistakes and restart 🔁

4. Body language 👻

It is important to look enthusiastic even if you don't like it that much.

Showing interest makes people curious about you more than judging you.

❌ Don't slouch! Try standing straight for the sake of your back and grades!

❌ Hold eye contact. 👁 👄👁

I don't care how awkward this might come off, but it's the only way to escape your fear.

Look for a person or friends (who don't make you laugh on purpose but root for you xDD) you're most comfortable with and not just your professor.

❌ Play it cool if you stutter or gulp. Like what gives? You're just human bruh?

Everyone does that sometimes and whoever laughs at you is just immature and under developed 🤷‍♂️🤦‍♂️

Don't move around, unless you have a huge audience.

I know walking helps you to keep their cool, but try to avoid it. You just come off more nervous and anxious to your audience.

❌ Don't forget to breath folks.

Take your time and breath. Find your peace as you speak and be confident. Loosen up mate ;) you've got this!

❌ Not everyone is listening, so don't even try to make it flawless as possible.

Think about your topic instead and secretly tick your mind-note inside your head.

5. Be yourself 🤡✌

I'm a walking piece of art.

Lmaoo xD be brave mate.

Just focus on your topic and slay like the boss you are.

You don't need to prove or impress shit. *cough* (your crush, friends, teachers...)

We all get judged through staring or even the slight glimpse, so what worse can it get yk?

Be carefree, because you're not alone.

We're all in this together!

*insert High School Musical xDD)

No but for real.

Know who you are and make the best out of it.

You can only overcome fear if you let your worries go and focused more on yourself.🤗
