NOW WHERE ARE MY PROCRASTINATING MATES AT?!🤣

READ THROUGH IT CAREFULLY!

I REPEAT.

CAREFULLY!

...

This is a habit that can be changed, meaning it is not something life long that can be fixed. 👌

Don't get me wrong 🤧

Procrastination has saved my arse too.

But I had to struggle with time and energy consumption. ⛈

There are some advantaged and disadvantage that speaks for procrastination.

Advantages:

- energy booster

Knowing that deadlines are reaching near, that's when we suddenly give a f00k🤡 So we work for the task.

- makes it seem easy

Procrastination is something quick to do, so you believe you can achieve anything in such a short time. ⏲

-> you also lower high expectations

- makes you focus

You want to get things done in a short time and therefore you avoid all distractions. 🏁

Disadvantages:

-Time

We know we're deadass serious for a night/day/week. Therefore we invest time on the task rather than splitting it up on time 🗿 *swallow* hard truth...

-bad for mental and physical health ❌

Now I'm not one to talk xD but due to overstressing, not taking care of yourself and getting everything done in a night (making you sleepless) is going to be the consequence you have to accept.

I had it rough changing my habit U-U

Sometimes I still do Procrastinate due to distractions with other works or gaming.

I won't recommend 🥲 not worth it. Do your academic stuffs first mate.

- worse academic performance 👁👄👁

Like a hit in the guts!

Yes, you may have gave 100% focus on your work in such a short time... but how long will it last?

Our brain cannot memorize all things at once. You need to keep practicing over and over again for a long lasting memory.

But when you procrastinate it is most likely going to be forgotten after a few days.

And what did you get from it?
Nothing but maybe just avoided a bad mark.

Once someone asks you a specific question about the subjects topic though, you have it hard to answer as you only have a small clue about it.

HOW DO I STOP PROCRASTINATING?!:

Take care of yourself first and change your mindset

When you're procrastinating, there's a higher chance of being unmotivated due to self-doubt, low self esteem, insecurity or anxiety.

And yeah, this argument hit me straight in the face xD ngl.

Hey mate we've all been there.

Sometimes it happens.

But you should know who you are. You're more than what you think.

You just gotta make a move (: and DO IT!

Distractions won't give you a degree and your dream job.

No one else can help you out of your negative thoughts unless you stand up yourself.

Trust me, breaking out from your comfort zone will make you feel stronger and capable of anything.

So the change starts with you! ✨

✅  Ask for help

After you've taken care of yourself, I want to remind you that it's alright to ask for help.

I know not everyone has the guts or can lower their pride for help xD *cough* speaking from own experience...

But it's never bad to ask for help or admit that you have it hard solving something.

Everyone struggles and there are people who are willing to help.

You just gotta let them.

Set your own deadlines

Discipline yourself by writing down what you want to have done rather than your actual due dates.

Whenever you get a task, try to do them as soon as possible.

Because there are other tasks coming right after your due date.

You can not run away from it and I hate to admit it but in college/university...

Procrastination will no longer be your loyal friend but a backstabbing one... sometimes it helps, most of the days it doesn't... 🥲🔪

Minimize distractions

Acknowledge that your phone with series/movies or games won't run away.

But your time is running.

So use the time to finish the damn task.

Then you can chill out and continue what has been holding you back.

simply tackle the hardest task first

Know how you have to put action in order to beat the boss in a game?

Yeah exactly that is what you have to do with your studies.

Take out the most unpleasant and hard one.

Why? So you can see what you have achieved afterwards and it makes you look at the other task easily.

You don't have to be afraid of those anymore once you take out the biggest one.

Reward yourself

To keep you moving forward don't forget to take breaks.

Do something that makes you happy after finishing your goal/task.

But don't slack off!

Remember the fight is not yet over!

Gotta move on mate 🎯

...

Alright those are things I found helpful and searched up on the internet 🤡

All I can say is, it did help me.

Sometimes I go back to my mistake and have to restart allover again.

What matters is you don't stay in it forever though.

It is best to avoid procrastination in my opinion 😶
