The last couple of days were a blur to the vampire, so much had happened that everything was just mushed together. That day in the woods, after her little episode Scott had managed to find Deaton but Derek had lost one of his beta's that night.
Vernon Boyd had died at the hands of Kali and the alpha twins and even though Sage wasn't close with the werewolf she was heartbroken that Derek had to go through the pain of losing another beta.
"They were there for two days, waiting. Hiding." Cora said reflecting on the story she had just told the couple, Stiles and Sage had found their way at Derek's loft a couple hours ago. The vampire felt like she needed to see him but they were greeted by Cora, the younger Hale told the couple that she didn't know where Derek was and she decided to tell them the story of the last time Derek was on the run as a kid.
"That's what we're taught to do when the Hunters find us- hide and heal." Cora finished as she turned to look at the blonde and brunette—the brunette who currently looked at her unsatisfied.
"Okay, so, is two days standard then, or are we thinking Derek's on like, some extended getaway?" Stiles said impatiently making Cora squint at him, "Why do you care?" She asked causing Sage to scoff.
"We've grown to like Derek so we care little Hale," Sage told the girl causing her to eye the vampire with curious eyes, Cora had still yet to figure out what it was about the blonde—she wasn't blind she knew she was attractive but the Hale figured this had something to do with Derek.
"Plus, I care because over the last few weeks; my best friend's tried to kill himself; his boss nearly got ritually sacrificed; a girl that I've known since I was three was ritually sacrificed; Boyd was killed by Alphas and my girlfriend is having fucking visions that she can't even remember having. Do you want me to keep going? 'Cause I can, all right? For, like, an hour." Stiles said and Cora raised her eyebrows, "You think Derek can do anything about that?" She asked.
"Maybe." Sage retorted, furrowing her brows when she sensed someone else around.
"I don't know-- there's something different about him now. He wasn't like this when I knew him." Cora said causing the couple to look at each other, "What was he like?" Stiles asked and Cora was about to answer but someone else did first.
"A lot like Scott, actually. A lot like most teenagers-- unbearably romantic, profoundly narcissistic, tolerable really only to other teenagers." Peter says as he walks down the spiral stairs. "And so what happened? What changed him?" Stiles asked causing Peter to smirk as he looked at the brunette, his eyes glancing over to the vampire. "Well, the same thing that changes a lot of young men..."
"A girl." Stiles couldn't help but look at the blonde that was seated next to him, he would admit that since Sage had come into his life things had changed for him, he never understood it, but they did.
