It hadn't been that long since the whole fiasco with Aiden and Cora, the young werewolf had belittled the McCall pack by telling them that they were failing to help anyone to which the vampire countered back that she wasn't doing any better. And now here they were, The werewolf and vampire sat on the human's bed while the human continued to pace up and down his room in front of his inpatient dad.

Allison had told the three that these sacrifices were philosophers, and it made sense to Stiles, the deputy- Tara-wasn't always a deputy but Sage had remembered what her sister had told her all those nights ago. She knew that the sacrifices were coming to an end because after the next teacher dies the last three will fall under guardians.

The blonde vampire's window was getting smaller and smaller and she had no idea what to do.

Stiles halted his steps as he looked at his dad, "Okay, okay, okay, okay... Yes! Okay. Nooo, oh..." he sputtered out before he continued pacing which only aggravated the sheriff more.

"Stiles?" Noah said impatiently making Stiles nod slightly, "Dad, I'm sorry, okay? I'm just—I'm trying to... I'm just trying to figure out how to start, here..."

"Hey, I don't have this kind of time," The sheriff countered while Cora looked at the vampire next to her, "Is he always like this?" Sage smiled nervously while watching her boyfriend, the anxiety and nervousness rolled off him in waves which she completely understood. Stiles was about to tell his father about the supernatural so he had every right to be a little sputtery, well more sputtery than usual.

"Kind of."

"Um--okay, for the last year, you've had all these cases that you couldn't figure out, right? I mean, all the murders involving Kate Argent, and then Matt killing all the people that drowned him, and all these murders right now-- it's like you've been playing a losing game." Stiles said making his dad sigh. "Stiles, the last thing I need right now is a job performance review from my own son."

The human sighed, " I know, okay?" Sage's frown only deepened once she noticed how fast his heart was beating, he had no idea how to start, her eyes landed on a chessboard that lay neatly in the corner.

"Maybe he needs to see the whole board." Stiles looked at his girlfriend, confusion swimming in his eyes until his gaze shifted onto the chessboard. His eyes lighted up in excitement, mouthing a small 'thank you' to the blonde.

"The-the reason that you're losing the game is 'cause you've never been able to see the whole board!" Stiles said as he opened up the chessboard, intriguing his dad a little bit.

It had been a few minutes since Stiles had shown his dad the whole board, the Stilinski boy and written down everyone's names that were involved in the supernatural before placing them on their assigned chess piece. The Vampire wasn't really shocked to see that she was placed on a Knight, but she was a little shocked to see at first that the human wanted to place her on the queen but she knew it was more fitting that she be placed on a knight.
