Reza--
This is great. I've made it back to Izana's castle but I was attacked along the way. For a moment I thought it was the family but I remembered my deadline isn't here yet, I have until sunrise to report to Mother, but I want Roman home safe with me first. That of course left the question of who they were and what they wanted from me. It turns out there's a rather plentiful bounty on my head from Shenazard Castle in Tanbarun so they were wanting to cash me in. I managed to get away and make it over the wall, but then I was unceremoniously attacked by the dark haired nuisance. The world really wanted to make life hard for me I suppose. That's what I get for claiming being a Reaper is boring...
I enter Izana's room and quickly shut the balcony doors before ducking out of sight. Somewhere between the two attacks, I'd gotten stabbed but I haven't had time to patch it up. All I know is that I'm bleeding quite a bit and it's rather uncomfortable. I need to find Roman and get the hell out of here so I can report in. I know he'll likely be held in a lower level unless they've killed him already but something in me automatically came up here instead. I feel as if I might potentially miss the prince someday but he got what he wanted and I will be able to live another day.
I push open the doors to his office and curse under my breath about the twinge of pain I feel when I move, then curse again as I see Izana alive and well behind his desk. How the hell am I supposed to miss him when he's not dead?
"Oh, fantastic." I scowl. "Reaper fails so badly at her job she abandons her attendant and fails to kill a target. My only saving grace right now would be if I bled out from this lovely stab wound... Is Roman alive at least?"
"Yes, he's in the holding cells." He answers simply, his eyes looking me over curiously. "I ordered them not to do anything with him. Sadly, the assassination attempt failed due to my medical staff being good at their jobs. I can shift the guard placements to clear a way to get to Roman, then you can complete your job and leave before your time runs out."
"There's a slight problem with that..."
I'd heard the balcony doors open so I turn on heel with a dagger ready to attack but I'm too slow with my injury and I'm sent sprawling to the floor. I use our momentum, however, to flip us over so I end up on top of my attacker. I press my dagger to Obi's throat as he struggles against me.
"You're getting really annoying and that is very dangerous for you."
"I'm not letting you kill the prince." He tries to free himself and only manages to turn us over so in the process I shove us to the side and slam his head against the side of the desk.
"I fixed that issue. Now he doesn't have to let me." I carefully get to my feet and gasp at the pain in my side. "Alright, this is how it's going to go down. You're going to get me safely to Roman and let him out. Once that happens, I'll kill you there and Roman and I will leave. It'll look like you were killed trying to stop the escape and I can finish my job."
Despite Izana's insistence that I dress my wound or let him see it to fix it himself, I ignore him and pull him from his seat and push him toward the door. I remind him that I have a quickly approaching time limit and I need to get far away from this room before Obi wakes up again. There's also the matter of the bounty on my head being publicized. I don't know how they were able to find me but I'm sure they're lurking around the outskirts of the castle somewhere for when I leave. I obviously can't fight well in this condition, especially if I bleed out or pass out, but I don't have time. Roman can handle the bounty hunters once we're free, I'm sure. We just have to get us out of the castle and kill Izana.
Izana and I make it to the holding cells using his ability to misdirect the lingering staff while I cling to shadows and alcoves. It was rather tedious, but the minor breaks allowed me to slowly stitch together my wound. It didn't feel pleasant having to quickly stitch and stop every few minutes, but that will help move things along. When we reach the base of the stairs, Izana motions that there is a guard in place. He steps forward to speak to him but there isn't anywhere that I can hide, so I latch onto his shirt to stop him and move around him. A moment later I let the man drop to the floor unconscious while I latch onto his keys. I turn back to Izana and gesture for him to lead the way to Roman's cell.
We stop in front of a wooden door but Izana gestures to the iron bars just beyond it. I move past him to find Roman pacing the length of the room while fidgeting with the elastic he uses to pull his hair back. It's a stress tell that he picked up when we were children. I typically only see it whenever I'm ill or injured. He hasn't noticed me due to his gaze on the floor and the incessant whispers coming from his mouth. He's worried for me and my safety based off his words but there's not even a mention of concern for himself despite him being in a cell within the confines of Wistal Castle. Even with his relentless flirtations, he's a rather sweet and dedicated man.
