Reza--
Roman's interruption threw another kink in the plan that I so totally had in motion... but I think I have an idea that will hopefully work. We will sedate Prince Izana and Roman will carry him off in a direction away from the family while I head into it and re-direct them while avoiding my death. We will meet up at an empty cottage I saw a safe distance away and figure out what to do from there. I'm not exactly sure what will happen but it gives me a little time to breathe and come up with an idea on where to go and how to get away from this mess without dying at the hands of my family. If I do get killed, I pray that I have at least enough skill to not be taken out by my little cousin.
I take a deep breath and lower my hood before stepping out of the cover of the medical buildings. Roman was able to find a sedative in the cabinets and is waiting for my signal so he can leave with Izana. I can see my family shifting in and out of the shadows toward me and my hands start to tremble slightly as I grab my sword. Despite knowing the dangers of being Reaper, I never thought I would end up in this situation, literally fighting for my life from the family who brought me life. I lunge forward to meet the first blade sailing toward me and let out a short whistle. I know Roman can hear it so he should be leaving now. I run my sword through the first person that reaches me, then duck below another blade and rush toward the nearest wall. I can't go in the direction Roman has gone yet, so once I clear it I have to leave a trail through the forest away from it, then hide my tracks and disappear until they pass and lose me, then I can hopefully make it back.
I make it up onto the wall with relative ease despite the needle that sunk into my calf on the way up. I think it's shallow enough that I can rip it out and ignore it while I make my escape, though bleeding can cause an issue on the losing the trail part of my plan. As I move to drop down on the other side of the wall, a hand latches onto my ankle and I feel myself falling forward with the side of the wall quickly rushing toward my face. I manage to use my forearms to protect my face as I feel the stone scraping my skin. The impact knocks my leg free so I kick away from the wall and grab onto a tree branch. I can hear my family members following behind me as I race through the treetops away from Wistal Castle and away from the safety of having Roman by my side. I have to make it back to him no matter what, though I know that if something were to happen to me, Roman would fight to the very end to take out every member of the family, Mother first and foremost.
It's been roughly two hours since I started to lead the family away from the castle in an escape attempt involving Prince Izana. My body is exhausted and I can feel the blood soaking through my side from my stitches and sticking to the fabric of my leggings. I can't hear the slight rustle from people following me anymore, so I pull myself up into the cover of a thick evergreen to patch my wounds. As I reach into my aid pouch, I hear a rustle directly in front of me and I am slammed against the trunk. I meet eyes with my uncle and curse. He's a Level Four and I didn't see him in the groups on the grounds. He was the only family member besides my brother that treated me like a human, well, except for Roman of course.
"Hey there Kiddo."
"Don't say that while holding a knife to my throat."
"Where's your little orphan friend? Did he die already or did he run off like a coward?" He chuckles. "I always knew he was worthless."
Everything hurts but I can't stop. I have to keep going, I have to keep fighting, I have to kill my uncle. His words about Roman being worthless overrode my exhaustion and we started exchanging blows within the treetops. It didn't last long and now we're crashing to the forest floor with my dagger plunging into his shoulder. It's the most I can do right now. He sadly has a much higher chance of winning this than I do but I refuse to give up. I hit the ground first and feel at least two of my ribs break. That's even better, now I definitely am going to die. Uncle lands beside me so I pull my last dagger out of my pouch and blindly stab in that direction. It misses and I find myself pinned beneath him with one of his hands around my neck.
"Come on Kiddo, you were such a promising little brat, what happened?"
I'm alive... I don't know how but I'm alive... I can't breathe, I'm bleeding, I can barely keep myself standing, but I'm making it. Uncle is dead, thankfully, but I'm still a massive target for the rest of the family and whoever else may want me dead. I just have to get back to Roman... Everything will be okay if I can get to Roman. I'm always safe with him... I have to be getting close to the cottage I think. I could be going in the wrong direction after all. Oh no... There's a cloak blob in front of me. I am dead. I wonder how long it'll take Roman to kill Izana when I don't return. I turn to leave but my legs give out.
