Izana--

Reza woke up screaming this evening. It was short and rather raspy, but I could feel the hurt and raw pain contained in it and I wanted to go to her and comfort her, but Roman shoved his way past me. She is his Miss after all but I don't know how he could be so wholeheartedly concerned and loyal when it comes to her considering his cold and annoying demeanor. Roman came back out of the room not too long ago to tell me she was alright and they would be talking so I needed to keep a close watch through the cracks in the wood.

This is not good. This is monumentally not good. I can see slight movements in the trees as night fully takes over. One movement is close enough that I can see the outline of a figure. Reza and I are injured and Roman hasn't slept at all to my knowledge so we're essentially sitting ducks. I need to warn Roman but I can't tell him from a distance so I will have to move quickly and quietly. Thankfully I am able to move in relative silence thanks to the guards suffocating me at the castle. It did me well learning to dodge them. As I approach the bedroom, I can see Reza sitting up with a small stack of papers in her lap. They're talking quietly and it doesn't take much to figure out that they're discussing me.

"I know, but I just can't get myself to let him die or for me to kill him. It's weird since I've spent my life killing everything. Why is he any different?" She asks him as he plays with her hair. It's a question I've been wondering as well.

"Perhaps it's because he was the first target you saw as human. All of your other hits have been asleep or didn't see you coming. You spoke to him and got to see him as a person, unfortunately."

"You know if you got past your jealousy, he's not too bad of a person."

"Why would I be jealous of someone who has nothing I desire? Besides, I have my reasons to dislike him, starting with interfering with my job to protect my Miss and disrupting my quest to make you fall head over heels for me." I know he's speaking in a joking tone, but I'm not dumb enough to pretend I don't know he is truly in love with her.

"I still feel as if you should have gone into acting." She chuckles lightly and I feel a weird twinge in my chest as she looks at him so I speak up.

"Roman, we have company."

I'm currently tucked away out of sight in the washroom in pitch darkness while we pray that Reza's family moves on without bothering us. Reza is still in the bedroom since we had tacked a towel up over the window boards so the sun wouldn't bother her but now it's making it to where no one can see in it. I heard Roman move to the doorway between us and now it's just a waiting game. It all seems to be going well until I hear the slight creak of the door opening at the front of the cottage. I jump slightly as I feel Roman grab onto my wrist and push a dagger against my palm.

"Stay put but be ready. Reza is priority." He whispers and it's so quiet I can barely hear it.

I nod, knowing he can see me, and his presence disappears a second later. I hear light footsteps moving around the cottage but it seems to be only one person. A small lantern glow draws closer and I catch sight of the little girl from the medical wing but she hasn't seen us yet. She stops just shy of putting me in her light's radius and hesitates but turns around and leaves the cottage, shutting the door behind her. I can faintly hear her outside tell someone that the cottage is empty and I feel my body start to relax.

"Cottage is clear but stay quiet and move as little as possible, not sure who else may come through tonight."

"I hate that you can move without me hearing."

"Well you're a lousy prince, not an assassin so get used to it." He retorts and I roll my eyes.

It's been one of the longest and most tense nights of my life. We stayed in our positions for the rest of the night to be sure that no one else came around or entered the cottage. Once the sun started to rise, Roman and I checked the windows and saw no one so he told us to continue to stay quiet and on alert while he checked the perimeter. Shortly after he leaves, I check the windows again before quietly moving toward Reza's room. I haven't spoken to her since we got ready to leave the castle. If Roman were still here I know I wouldn't be able to get near her at all. I'd like to talk to her now that we have a brief moment of peace. I reach the doorway and find her sitting up with her back toward me, revealing bandages covering her whole torso instead of a shirt. She's fidgeting with something in front of her while cursing under her breath so I lightly rap on the open door.

"Reza, can I talk with you?"

"Only if you find a bottle of whiskey for me. I know Roman brought a small supply with him."

I shake my head and go back to the cabinet Roman got a bottle from before and find one left on the shelf so I bring it back to her. When I return, she is wearing an oversized shirt, likely Roman's, and is settled with her back against the headboard. I can see the exhaustion and pain on her face as she takes the bottle and starts to drain it.

"Thank you," She finally mumbles. "What do you need to discuss?"

"Quite a few things and nothing at the same time... I'm not sure what all I can get myself to discuss."

"That uh, seems rather stupid, but proceed I suppose. Firstly, I'd like to apologize for my recent absence and your current non-royal quarters."
