Reza---

I decide to let Roman out of his spiraling misery by whistling quietly. It's been our danger signal for so long that no matter what we always hear it. His head whips over to face me and I can see his expression light up as he moves closer to the bars.

"You came back for me. I knew my darling Miss couldn't stand being without me. I knew you loved me!" I sigh quietly as he gushes over me. At least this shows me he's alright.

"Yeah, yeah. Sadly we have a few issues and I need you so I can take care of them."

"Well your target survived the poison so that's one of them. We have roughly five hours to kill him, escape, and return so you can report to Mommy Nightmare Fuel."

"I really hope you know that if Mother ever hears you call her that she will kill you. I'm aware that Izana is alive, that's how I was able to make it to you. The assassin lackey knows I'm here but I left him unconscious in the office. There is also a sizable bounty on my head thanks to dear old Shenazard Castle. I was caught up on my way to the castle and got away but I'm sure they're lingering nearby."

"Are you injured?" He asks, his eyes raking over me.

"No." I lie.

"Are you lying to me?"

"No." I lie again.

"Yes she is." I shoot Izana a harsh glare as Roman starts to whine.

"Ugh, he's still alive? Why didn't you just kill him after taking the keys?"

"His time is quickly approaching, Roman, now hush."

I unlock the door to Roman's cell and within a second I'm suffocated as he hugs me while studying me for injuries. It wouldn't be so bad if he weren't straining the stitches. I send him around the corner with a few daggers to keep watch over the guard and any potential intruders while I take care of Izana.

"Are you ready?"

"As long as we succeed this time, then yes. It's rather humiliating to face plant your desk in front of your staff, then have to hobble along with a cane because your legs are asleep." He retorts with a slight smirk.

"Perhaps if you'd succumb to poison faster it wouldn't have been an issue." I shoot back. "Also, I feel as if for a literal castle, you lot are severely lacking in door locks, eh?"

"Quite possibly. Tell your lackey I said to take care of you or I'll come for him in the afterlife."

"I'm shaking in my boots, honestly." I hear Roman drone back from around the corner. "Get on with it Reez, we have to go."

I draw a dagger and move closer to Izana. Sadly, I won't be able to really keep up with the neat and peaceful way of death since we're down here and I'm still making him out to be a hero after death.

"This is going to hurt and be messy, but this is the only way I can do this in time, alright? I'll aim for something vital so you won't suffer long." As I tell him this, I remember something that my older brother and I used as part of a hide and seek game we played together as children before... Regardless, it may help ease or distract Izana while I do what I have to do. "Close your eyes and count to seven, when you wake you'll be in Heaven."

I watch as his eyes close and his mouth moves as he silently counts. I wait until around the middle before plunging the dagger into his chest. His eyes open and focus on me just as Roman's whistle fills the air along with shouting and sounds of metal against metal. I can't look away from Izana as blood starts to stain his shirt, even as I'm roughly tackled to the floor.

My head striking the stone floor dazes me for a moment but I begin to blindly swing against my attacker. My sight clears to find a young man with silvery blond hair shouting at me despite the tears in his eyes with the blade of his sword pressing tightly against my throat. Oh no, this must be the little brother. I'd wondered where he was since Izana spoke of him frequently. With his appearance though I don't imagine I kept up my part of the bargain of not traumatizing the kid. I struggle against him, trying not to hurt him more than I have to while trying desperately to tune out his words asking who I am and why I killed his brother. I remember asking that question myself when I was much younger. I manage to grab onto his wrists and alleviate the pressure of the blade as it's started to cut into my skin and look up at him.

"If you don't spend your final seconds of your brother's life yelling at me, go to him. You have the rest of your life to hunt me down. Don't waste it."

He looks between his brother's body behind me and myself before abandoning me to be with him. I saw healers come in a few seconds ago in efforts to save him. I quickly get to my feet and draw my sword, careful not to look back, then focus on the crowd of guards blocking my exit. Roman is in the mix fighting to keep them away from me while trying to avoid capture. I join the fray and the hall erupts into total chaos. It'll take an hour to get to the compound once we make it over the wall, so we have three hours to get through the fight here, get to the grounds and over the wall, and make it to Mother without being stopped by the bounty hunters if they're still around. This is great...
