Izana--
Despite the worries Roman and I both had about Reza moving around and fighting so soon after her injuries, she has insisted. We have found a wording for Obi's orders that should help Roman and Reza accomplish their goals without putting them in harm's way. I haven't told them, but I have decided that I am going to find my sword while we're at the castle and go to help them as well. I technically owe them my life and I want her to be safe, whatever she plans to do after this. I know that once this is over, I likely won't ever see her again. It's rather strange that the people who were going to kill me have given me reason to live again. I actually don't want to die anymore. I want to work on my kingdom but still get the chance to relax and experience life outside of the castle.
Reza emerges from her room, dressed in what appears to be clean, untorn clothing. I knew they both had small bags with them but with seeing her wearing Roman's shirts before, I thought she didn't have anything. She looks as fierce and deadly as ever in tight black pants, her customary boots, and a black sleeveless top. Her cloak has been in the main room since her arrival or else I'm sure she'd have it on as well. She meets my gaze and a small smirk crosses her lips, making me realize I'd been staring at her quite obviously. I tear my gaze away and get to my feet. It's just before sunset the night after we made our plans. We wanted Reza to get as much rest as possible before we put our plan into action.
"Are you ready, Izana?" As soon as Roman gets back from his final perimeter check in the direction we're heading, we're all leaving.
"As ready as I can be."
"It won't be long until you're back in the castle again. I'm sure you'll be glad to be rid of us."
"Surprisingly, it wasn't all bad. I've quite enjoyed my time with you."
I see a small smile on her face at my words and I start to feel the strange urge to tell her how I feel again.
"Reza, can I speak with you honestly?"
She finishes adjusting her boot laces and moves to settle on the arm of the couch near me. "Obviously."
"I know it's not exactly a good idea to say any of this, but given the fact that I likely won't see you again after this and the fact that Roman isn't here to kill me for it... I just wanted to say that I uh, well I don't expect anything from this so don't feel obligat-"
"Izana Wistaria, get to the point."
"I think over our time together I have developed romantic feelings toward you but I won't try to pursue it because I know that your heart is elsewhere." I manage to tell her as I feel my heart trying to beat out of my chest.
I have never felt this level of anxiousness in any part of my life so far and I don't exactly enjoy it. Reza opens her mouth to speak but stops and tilts her head slightly. I know that is a sign to stay still and quiet and that someone is coming. It could be Roman but at the same time I can never hear either of them moving. She reaches over to grab her cloak then tosses it at me and shoos me into the corner. I follow her unspoken instructions and hide myself as the door flies open. In the dying light of the setting sun I'm unsurprised to see a cloaked figure enter the cottage. It's a member of her family, that much is obvious, but I couldn't even begin to guess who they were. I just know that based off this person's size and stature, Reza may not be able to hold her own with her injuries.
"I finally found you, Reza. Where's that little orphan lackey of yours? I'd like to kill him first." The man speaks.
"Perrin," She rolls her shoulders and casually gets to her feet. "It's been a while since I've kicked your ass, hasn't it? It's a shame you won't have the Watchers to stop me from killing you this time."
Perrin lunges at her but she side-steps him with ease and slams her fist into his throat as he stumbles into the couch. He straightens while coughing only to have her roundhouse kick him in the face, sending him crashing to the floor. He moves to get up but she stomps on his hand with one foot and I cringe as the other hits his head again, knocking him out... Well, I assume he's knocked out. I know Reza and Roman are highly skilled fighters but I didn't expect her to beat him that easily especially when she's dealing with stitches and broken ribs.
"Are you okay?" I ask her as she moves away from Perrin's body.
"It hurt a bit, but it felt good to fight again."
"Who was he?" I hand her cloak back and
"One of my cousins that never liked the fact I beat him so easily whenever we would fight. As you can see, he's not exactly much to worry over." She sighs as she shuts the door again. "Now that that is taken care of, I want to ask what you mean that my heart is elsewhere?"
"It is nothing, it's not my place to say."
She arches a brow and moves to stand in front of me. Watching her take Perrin down with such ease only served to make me feel even more attracted to her, though she does slightly frighten me as well.
"If it were nothing you would not have spoken. Tell me what you mean."
"I can see the way you look at Roman and how you interact with him. Whether you realize it or not, I think you're in love with him."
"What do you mean I'm in love with him?" She asks just as the door opens behind her.
"Before I start bashing skulls in, I need to know what the hell is going on in here." Roman growls, his eyes meeting mine in anger.
