It didn't take long for the duo to make their way over the river and pass through the small mountain range to get to the entrance of Kakariko Village.

The village was humble and quaint, but in Zelda's opinion, was one of the most beautiful corners of the kingdom.

They had restocked some supplies at a nearby stable and had begun scaling the high-up path towards Kakariko. All the while, Zelda snuck in glances at the eerie Yiga symbol imprinted on her wrist, the upside-down eye seemed to stare right into her soul.

"Not much farther now," Link called from up ahead. "We just have to reach the end of this path."

Zelda sighed and worry filled her chest, as Mistress Dume's words kept rolling around in her head.

Moments later, they reached their destination, an opening in the stony mountains. To their surprise, they could see a familiar platinum-haired girl waiting for them at the entrance, sitting on the back of a donkey.

"Paya?" Link asked. "What are you doing here?"

Sure enough, the girl who had been at the village entrance, waved to them. "Master Link! Princess Zelda!" She called.

Paya was a familiar face to Link; she was Impa's granddaughter and had been exceptionally helpful during his journey to rescue Zelda. She was one of the more devoted Shekiahs and a trusted friend.

"Grandmother told me to wait out here for you; since you were coming to visit us today and all," she explained.

Link quickly rode over to her.

"Listen Paya, this is going to sound crazy," he began, "but we think Zelda's been cursed...by the Yiga Clan."

Paya's eyes widened in fear at the sound of the evil group's name; she looked up towards the princess.

"Zelda, is this true?" She asked worriedly.

The princess nodded, rolling up her sleeve again so Paya could see the emblem.

"Some odd sorceress cursed me in a dream; I'm thinking she's working with the Yiga given the symbol," Zelda told her.

Paya's face was a mix of both fear and confusion as she looked at the princess's wrist.

"A... sorceress?" Paya asked.

Zelda nodded and sighed. "Yes, although I think it's best to go into detail later; we wanted to see Impa about this."

Paya nodded in agreement. "Of course, your highness. We should get to my grandmother's as soon as possible; this way."

Paya got her donkey to start cantering down the road and her friends quickly followed suit.

The Shekiah villagers were very surprised to see them riding into the town square rather frantically.

"Lady Paya? And... the princess with her knight?" Dorian, one of the Sheikah who guarded Impa's house asked. "What on earth is going on?"

Paya jumped off her donkey, stumbling a little as she did so.

"There's no time to explain!" She said, regaining her balance. "We need to see my grandmother, right now."

Dorian, although confused, allowed the three of them through the gate and up the stairs to the big house where Impa lived.

"Grandmother!" Paya called, pushing the door open, "Link and Zelda are here; they need your help!"

Zelda hurried in mere seconds later, seeing Impa, sitting on her small stack of pillows with her hands folded in her lap.

Impa looked up and saw the three of them standing in the doorway, flustered.
