Earlier in the day when Teba had dropped Zelda off at the castle, he did so very secretively. None of the citizens of Castle Town had noticed him, so none of them knew the princess was home.

The townspeople had received word more than a week ago of Zelda and Link's journey to gather ingredients, and that they would be gone for a while.

Bolson had decided to take it upon himself to set up the party while they waited for the princess and knight to return, deciding it would be fun to surprise them.

However, he and the other inhabitants of Castle Town had not expected for thorns to start violently growing around the castle.

It was late at night when the loud crashing noises of the brambles beginning to thrust their way out of the ground woke the townspeople.

They hurried out into the streets and into the town square and began witnessing the horrors of Dume's evil magic. They had no idea who she was and less of an idea that she was the one who had cursed Zelda.

After gathering together his armory, tools, and noble steed, Link began galloping towards Hyrule Castle. Only one thought raced through his mind; Zelda.

The champions decided they would keep at a distance and watch him from the sidelines. They understood that this was his battle, and he had to fight it. Mipha, however, decided to leave temporarily, saying she'd soon be back.

As he rode to the castle, Link soon found himself being attacked by several monsters. Bokoblins, Lizalfoses, and Moblins charged towards him, bearing their clubs and launching their arrows. They'd obviously been sent by Dume.

He rode down through the plains and rocky terrain for about an hour until finally, he could tell he was nearing the castle.

She must know I'm here. Link thought to himself as he charged into Hyrule Feild.

Sure enough, he was right. From much farther up ahead, standing atop the highest tower of Hyrule Castle was the evil sorceress herself, and she was not very happy with how Link was able to cut through the hordes of monsters she'd sent.

"Mistress, he's slain almost all the bokoblins!" One of the Yiga who'd accompanied her called.

He had a telescope they'd stolen from some Shekiah propped up and pointed towards the fields.

"He what?!" Dume roared, storming over to the telescope and pushing the Yiga out of the way.

She pressed her eye to the lens and sure enough, was able to see the knight brandishing his sword at the enemies. This angered her deeply.

Dume took a step back from the edge of the tower, where she'd been leaning.

"Alright then, you brave little knight; two can play at that game!" She exclaimed, pulling out her magical orb.

Gently enveloping it in one hand, she raised the other to the sky.

Directly above her, ominous dark gray clouds began culminating together, swirling and twisting. Lightning pierced through them, spreading like electrified veins across the sky.

The storm spread outwards from where Dume stood on the tower. The dark blue night sky began changing and growing lighter. It turned a shade of deep purple.

The giant bolts of lightning struck the ground Link rode on. He had no choice but to steer his horse from left to right in a mad frenzy, trying his best to avoid them.

All the while, in the distance, the brambles of thorns grew and grew around the tower. They lunged upwards and coiled themselves around every single nook and cranny they could grab onto.
