It would be a very long trip, considering the mountains of Hebra were practically on the opposite side of the kingdom from Kakariko.

They rode through the west of the Necluda region and crossed the Squabble River, and it was long before they had reached the Dueling Peaks.

Because, after surveying their list of ingredients, they realized they also needed armoranth.

The succulent purple flower grew on the cliffs and mountains. They were rock hard, so they couldn't really be prepared for cooking, however they could be used in elixirs and potions. And in Link and Zelda's case, it was part of the answer to breaking the curse.

"Any armoranth up there?" Link asked Zelda, who stared at the rocky peaks above, trying to find the plant.

"Not yet," Zelda sighed, continuing to look.

"If you don't find anything, we can always try a different mountain. Those things grow anywhere that's elevated," Link explained, demonstrating his vast knowledge of Hyrule's flora and fauna.

It wasn't surprising; Link had spent several days out in the wilderness. He had to learn the ways of the land, along with all the things it had to offer.

"Link, I think we might have to try a different..." Zelda's voice trailed off as soon as she saw the small flash of purple.

"There! Behind those jagged rocks next to that crack!" She said, pointing to them and jumping off her horse.

"Wait, Princess, where are you going?" Link asked, watching her run for the cliffs.

"To get the armoranth of course!" Zelda called from behind her.

Grabbing some of the rocks that stuck out from the ledge, the young princess hoisted herself upwards, reaching to grab another rock to keep going.

"That's dangerous, Zelda! Let me get it for you!" Link called after her, dismounting his own horse and running to the ledge.

Zelda paid him no mind however, as she continued to climb up. By this time, Link had begun following her lead.

Link, unlike the princess, was well experienced from all the climbing he'd done before, and it didn't take long for him to catch up to her.

Upon seeing him, Zelda smiled cunningly, and proceeded to start climbing even faster.

"Oh, are we making this a race now?" Link asked, seemingly catching onto the princess's game. "I'll have you know, princess, I've climbed mountains in the hot and dusty Gerudo desert! There's no way you could actually beat me," he boasted playfully.

Zelda couldn't help but giggle at him, she turned to look down at him.

"Oh really? Then may I ask why you're still behind me?" She replied, playing along.

Link mock scoffed. "I'm simply letting you get ahead princess. Can't you see I'm just trying to be chivalrous?" he retorted.

Zelda's laughter that ensued afterwards was like music to his ears.

Truth be told, Link would've let Zelda win their little race anyways. In any situation he could, he'd let her win and take the little victories, if it meant seeing her happy. Her joy was his, and after all she'd been through, she deserved all the happiness in the world.

He was rather lost thought, which is why Link wasn't expecting it when the rock Zelda was stepping on broke from underneath her and she began plummeting, his heart dropping along with her.
