"The Wheel of Time turns, and Ages come and pass, leaving memories that become legend. Legend fades to myth, and even myth is long forgotten when the Age that gave it birth comes again."
Anirudh's POV
"Bondita...i did marry you to protect you but...i never knew you would become my everything. Your husband only thinks of your welfare, a day without thinking of your activity passed like a decade. That choice of separation and distance was meant for a temporary time period. It doesn't mean connection between our hearts needs to be broken. Bondita, no matter what happens and what destiny has in store for us, our relationship would never change. I did try to separate you from me in the past but that was only to get you into the right track. I know it was a grave error but I want you with me for transforming the Orthodox society, to make it a better world to live in for women and the under privileged sections of our people. Try to..... "
"Anirudh.....anirudh get up son." Uncle's throaty voice pulled me alongwith the rough sunrays piercing through the windowpane, I found himself on my bed and was compelled to open my reddened eyes itching badly with pain.
Partially covering my eyes with one hand, I got up trying to adjust myself while Kaka, Som, Batuk stood surrounding me with concerned eyes."How are you feeling son?" asked a worried Kaka.
I could not make out clearly as to why my head was pinning so much. I looked at the huge grandfather's Pendulam rummaging my ear drums with its loud noise.
"Its 11 AM...I am so late. what are all of you doing here? What happened to me? Why all of you seem so worried? I asked under one breath.
"Chote Malik you had collapsed inside the bathroom, we somehow opened the door and brought you to your bed." Bihari said slowly while looking down.
"What?" I squealed out of shock
Trilochan RC - Son, take this glass of water, I guess you have seen a bad dream.
"No...no....It was not a bad dream kaka" I replied getting into my senses.
"I had overcome some of my fears and I saw Bondita adoring her hairline with the Vermilion. She said we looked good together and we shared same food, I fed her with her favorite sweets. I was preparing myself for a judgement of the court hearing dealing with Re-amendment of Child Marriage Act. We all were worried, but the judgement of the court was in our favour. It raised the legal age of marriage for both the genders. So many families, the lives of innocent girls were saved. Bondita understood my compulsions and forgave me. But as my demons returned to haunt and I dropped her to krishnanagar at her thakuma's bari where she would grow up as Barrister babu Bondita, not an assignment but as my beloved wife. I didn't mind restricting our glorious relationship of mind to a mentor and prodigy relationship rather friendship only I saw Sumati ma warning me not to visit them for my past blunder but however she would always be my...""Dada.....dada.....calm down" Batuk jerked me by my shoulder bringing me back to reality "try to relax yourself."
Binoy RC (frowning) - Anirudh....what are you continuously blabbering since long? The Re-amendment of Child marriage Act is under discussion process, which I suppose will pass only after our country gains complete independence may be by 1949 or so. I guess this letter by Bondita send you to your land of dreams again. But now, son freshen up. We need to get ready.
Som - Dada, Please get yourself to face the reality now. This is not a dream or diary nor a novel or bioscope and neither an alternate realm in a parallel universe.
