The fool doth think he is wise, but the wise man knows himself to be a fool
Anirudh's POV contd....
"What do you mean by your last line?" I murmured wondering "Bondita was hell bent on performing the wifely duties, prior to our anniversary I found her writing names on her notebook and then on her palms. She just ignored her studies, did not do her homework since we had been to village that's what I tried her explaining not to go that stubborn, so I washed her aalta tinted palms marked with our names together and asked her to stay in the room and finish her homework but she disobeyed me and came down. Didn't you all see how envious she was while dancing assuming herself as Radha? I was just talking to Manorama and Bondita tried to grab my attention only on us. Is it how a child should behave?"
Tennis Reflection (with sharp eyes, smirking) - But my ace compatriot, Bondita did finish her homework, she told you isn't it? you were so engrossed in thanking Manorama for her assistance in gathering Bondita's school fees that you ignored the fact it was your imposed little wife who rescued your life when you caught fire while performing those unsafe stunts at the fair.
Manorama tried to remind you this fact in your fake anniversary event but you were busy cherishing the liberation of your freedom's presence, feeling hurt when the flower vase fell down at a little distance from her, you insulted Bondita badly infront of all, despite the kid confessing it happened by mistake and not intentionally done by her. True that, she was not your Radha, Sampurna and yourself confirmed that to her with the crucial information of your childhood relationship with Saudamini and truth behind your imposed child/mismatch marriage.
"I admit Bondita did it by mistake" I spoke restlessly "I was actually happy to know that Manorama who helped me with financial assistance, happened to be my kaka's friend, but I scolded Bondita because she should have been careful while dancing which she was not, engrossed in her envy against Manorama, what if the vase had really hurt Manorama, wouldn't it be an insult to our guest, the one without whose help I couldn't have arranged Bondita's school fees at a short notice?
Barrister Alter Image (sharply smirking)- Your highness, do you remember what I asked you in our first face off that night? "Bondita se aaj itna naraaz kyu ho tum? Apne andar ka sara gussa nikal diya tumne, kyu kuch galat kiya usne? Arey batao kya galti thi bondita ki? yehi ki wo badi ho rahi hai. Yehi ki badhti umra k sath sath uske man mey kuch badlaaw honge. Ye uski galti thi. Arey bolo"
The girl was in her adolescent phase and you had educated her by yourself of those upcoming natural changes in her body, you prepared sanitary napkins and provided warm rice bags to sooth her cramps with your own hands in the absence of her mother, you had a clear knowledge of the same because similar changes occur in boys too, they do develop an attraction for the opposite gender in that phase and Bondita was growing up watching you as her husband and she respected the institution of marriage with more honesty than you did, weren't you impressed with her intellectual maturity which was more compared to other girls of her age?
I am saying this as I suppose you too fell for Saudamini during your adolescence, set to marry each other until your and Bondita's stars crossed each other. Weren't you envious on hearing the news from Som of her being approached by another man and his family over a wedding proposal when you were planning to propose her for marriage then? Wasn't it you who grabbed her arm and pulled her to a nearby bed rest, twisting her wrist behind her back, claiming your rights on her with furious flames of discomfort shooting from your eyes? Say, were you not angry that moment? You were laying down your justified discomfort against 12yr old Bondita's infatuated stare at you in the study. Shall we start enlisting your list of stares at Saudamini?
Now on your fateful event, the broken vase did not hurt your Manorama, she herself admitted, then why did you get so irritated? Did you think even for once then that the broken vase mistakenly pushed by Bondita could hurt her feet instead?
