Time was a concept that didn't exist here in the Palace. And as long as the Knowledge Incarnate was still around, there was no way we could meet up with each other.
I had been casually wandering the empty hallways, knowing that I would be alone before even stepping foot in here. But I hoped that I would be able to tell the others more about who they would be up against.
Yet somehow, I felt that everything was fine. My friends were all incredibly strong and even if that wouldn't be enough, their sheer determination was unmatched even by the Original Incarnates. I guess you could say that they became lazy as the many, many years passed.
As I turned the corner, I recognised the hallway I was moving through. Even if the rooms and corridors all shifted at Knowledge's will, there was no mistaking the doors I was standing before.
On the other side of these sealed dark wood doors was the room I had been born into. It was the same place that I had lived out my early years and while it sounded nice to be raised in a Palace as grandiose as this, I can assure you it was anything but that.
All of the Celestials were twisted. Chaac and Hurakan seemed to be the only somewhat normal people here but they were forced to hide their true intentions out of fear for the King.
I walked past the doors, picking up the pace as memories flooded into my mind. I was just a tool for the Celestials, my mother Ishchel no exception. She called it a mother's love and I was unfortunate enough to not know what it should have been.
So when the day came where I was banished from Heaven and sent to die in the Beyondlands, I was somewhat grateful. To escape the cage I was born into would be freedom to anyone but my liberty was short lived. I was blinded, starved and mutilated, leaving me no choice but to fend for myself.
Only one thing kept me going and it was for that same reason why I was here.
I shoved my hands in my pockets, letting out a short sigh. As long as I believed that everyone else was doing well, I wouldn't be held back by such sentimentalities.
Endless hours past and soon enough, I arrived at an opening. Directly ahead of where I was facing, the hallways split into two directions. But I was focused on what was in front of me.
There were no doors separating the room and I so without wasting any more time, I moved forward. As I stepped through the archway, I was greeted by a warm, gentle light.
The roof soared well above, being held up by several white stone pillars on either side of where I was stood. I looked down, seeing that I was standing on top of a plush golden carpet. The floor was made from a delicately carved white stone, golden inscriptions and symbols engraved into the floor.
I lifted my gaze, looking ahead. A huge stained glass window was sat in front of me, the colours depicting the sun and the moon on the left and right. The bottom showed a skeletal figure who had been flipped upside down. Separated by a thin blue layer, the outline of a humanoid man was stood as the skeleton's reflection. At the top of the window, a four pointed star illuminated the throne room.
Following the golden carpet with my eyes, I looked up to a set of stairs as they ascended to the a set of three thrones. On the right and left, the crowned chairs were made from white and rose gold and either sapphire or ruby gemstones.
