- Death -

---

"Hm, I can hear the Moon and the Sun going at it. Your friends are truly strong if they've pushed them that far."

I narrowed my eyes on the man before me. He hadn't moved from his position, even after declaring that a fight would unfold between us.

"How about you, Grim Reaper? Don't you feel like trying to kill me?"

A tense air had settled in the dark room. I tightened my fingers around the handle of my scythe, ready for anything that would come my way. The sound of chains dragging along the skeletal remains only made me more cautious.

Slowly, Kisin stood to his feet, crushing a large bone under his foot. There was an absent gleam in his eyes, as he looked down to me but it felt like his gaze wasn't focused on where I was stood.

"You should make the first move, Grim Reaper because I am itching to kill you."

Without waiting for a response, Kisin swung his right arm forward, dragging along a long black chain. With surprising speed, the steel cable cut through the air, whipping against the blade of my scythe as I quickly reacted.

The strength behind that first attack pushed me back from where I was stood but I kept my balance. As I saw the next attack coming, I was able to nimbly evade, putting some distance between my opponent and I.

I immediately recognised that I was no match for Kisin in terms of speed and raw strength. His unhealthy body was deceiving as he moved with surprising agility. With no time to think of a plan, I was forced to raise my scythe in defence as the two black chains came crashing down from above.

"It's boring if you only defend. Or can you simply not attack?" Kisin emerged from the darkness, his eyes still absentmindedly scanning me.

"Eye of Amun-Ra: Power of the Sun Lord!"

A deep scarlet red light cloaked my body as I felt my muscles bulge slightly. As this newfound strength coursed through my veins, I was able to push back against the black chains.

"Hm. The Chains of Death won't be broken by anything you can throw at them. Even cutting them with your scythe will only damage your weapon."

As he spoke, Kisin swung forward again, this time with more effort. I raised my scythe to block his attack, the chains pushing me to the side.

"Ammit's Primal Fury!"

"Corrupted Outrage!"

I swung forward with my scythe, a dazzling emerald light shining from the blade. The image of a beastly crocodile surged through the air, colliding with the steaming black Chains of Death. As our attacks crashed into each other, there was a loud explosion, dozens of skulls and bones being thrown away.

Through the thick smoke, the chains came flying toward me with speed. The steel cables were still giving off a faint black steam as I narrowly avoided the attack.

Kisin wouldn't let up though, guiding the chains with quick motions of his wrists. I couldn't keep up, feeling the heavy metal cables slamming into my side, knocking the wind from my lungs.

Slowly, I stood to my feet, shaking off the injury. Even though I couldn't feel the pain, I could still tell that my body was hurting.

"The Chosen One who could never feel pain. The perfect leader for the King of Hell's army and yet that title was not granted to you. Funny how life work, huh?"
