As we stepped forward and the dust settled over the Elf Kingdom, all eyes were on the four of us. The watchful gazes of the hiding elves could be felt for miles around as the city was cleared out.
In a flash, the four silhouetted figures descended from the skies, landing with a crash. I looked closer, seeing that each of them stood at around fifteen feet tall. Although they weren't as tall as the four titans, their size was still something to behold.
The mysterious creatures basked in the sunlight, the glowing rays illuminating their unusual figures. While they had human-like bodies, their heads were much larger than than expected, each of the creatures wearing decorated head-dresses.
From right to left, all four creatures stared us down as if to pick their target as an uneasy silence settled on the streets of the Elf Kingdom. I focused my eyes, trying to get a read of the creatures' aura but as I did, I felt a wave of unusual energy emanating from their bodies. It was clear that they weren't from this world and if it wasn't for the Oracle, we would have no idea what we were up against.
The patterns across their head-dresses was unlike anything I had ever seen before. I thought about a certain Wildfire Incarnate, noticing that his choice of clothing was somewhat similar to the symbols of these four Ancients.
"At least we know what we're up against." Death's voice rang out, shedding light on who we were fighting, "Kanaloa, the Seafaring Ancient, Lono, the Providence Ancient, Ku, the War Ancient and Kane, the Skyborn Ancient."
From what it sounded like, the cloaked reaper had already picked his target. The girls followed his gaze, looking forward. Jade nodded with certainty as Ariel turned to me expectantly.
"Just don't cause too much damage to the Kingdom."
With that, we were all set. Neither of us hesitated, charging forward as our opponents did the same.
As we collided with our enemies, a deafening shockwave echoed throughout the empty streets. I didn't have any time to look to my right, having my hands full with Kane, the Skyborn Ancient.
At the last moment, I was able to defend against a powerful punch, using my arms to reduce the damage. I felt my body fly high into the air, my opponent leaping up to follow its initial attack.
The title of Skyborn Ancient suggested that this was the fight my opponent was looking for but this wouldn't put me at a disadvantage. Since I could fly, well, control the wind, I would still be on even footing with Kane.
Once again, my opponent swung forward with a thunderous punch, his fist sparking ever so slightly as I nimbly evaded the reckless attack. But Kane wasn't done there, twisting his body as he threw a quick backhanded fist.
I felt the wind rush over my face as I leaned back, barely dodging the attack. I knew I couldn't stay on the defensive, waving my hand to summon a gust of wind to create some space between Kane and I.
The Skyborn Ancient shook off the attack, his face showing no emotion. I quickly realised that a close quarters combat was my opponent's preferred fighting style so if I kept my distance, I would be alright.
"Fire Seal: Majestic Crimson Flame!"
A wave of scarlet fire rushed through the sky, Kane making no effort to evade the attack. Then as the flames washed over his sturdy body, the Skyborn Ancient emerged unscathed.
Without missing a beat, Kane surged forward, driving his fist into my stomach, kicking the wind out of my lungs. I twisted my body, ready for the counter attack.
"Wind Seal: Wind Dragon Slash!"
As a harsh green light cloaked my right leg, I hooked my foot around, smashing into Kane's side. His wooden body crumbled at where the attack connected but it wouldn't be enough to slow him down.
