With the motion of my hand, a divine gale put some spring in my step and with one leap, I was at Itzamna's neck. I twisted my body in mid air, my right leg becoming cloaked in a harsh green light as I kicked out with all of my might. There was a deafening explosion on impact and as I looked down, I saw that my attack didn't even make contact with my opponent. My leg was suspended in mid air, unable to penetrate through an invisible forcefield.
"You cannot even break through my aura. After coming all this way, you still disappoint me Ayaan."
Just as the King moved to grab my leg, I turned away, putting some distance between us. I already knew that my opponent was stronger than me but the difference between us was like night and day. There was no hope for me if I couldn't even connect an attack.
"True Water Seal: Noah's Ten Thousand River Flood!"
As I made my move, a jet stream of water came crashing down from the ceiling. The torrent smashed into the floor, breaking down the two stone pillars that were nearest to the thrones.
Just as I thought the spell connected, Itzamna stepped through the water veil with an unamused look on his face. His eyes were glimmering with a divine purity, the indacescent daylight filling the throne room.
"Even after you proclaimed your path of revenge, you cannot bring yourself to lay a finger on me. This will be your downfall, Ayaan." He raised his left hand, his vibrant aura bursting from his palm as he made his move, "Elemental Seal: Seven Point Starfall."
Before I knew it, a marvelous star shower came raining down from the ceiling. With only a few seconds to spare, I raised my hands, "Earth Seal: Ten Billion Ton Boulder!"
In the blink of an eye, a gigantic stone boulder appeared in the air. Acting as a shield, the powerful star storm collided with the megalith, barely putting a dent into it.
I swung my arms down with force, directing the huge rock toward Itzamna. He made no attempt to evade, instead leaping into the air. His right fist was cloaked in a brilliant citrine light as he closed the distance between him and the falling boulder.
Within moments, the giant megalith was shattered to smithereens with a few punches. He landed on the floor gracefully, now only twenty feet from where I stood.
Pieces of the giant rock came crumbling down, surrounding both of us as our eyes were fixed on each other. Itzamna's lips were curled into a tight, serious smirk as if he was still sizing me up even after that attack.
Aquamarine sparks flew from the King's feet and in less than a nanosecond, he closed the distance between us. I barely managed to track him with my eyes, raising my arms to brace for the incoming left hook.
I was pushed back in my place but kept my balance. The moment I looked up to my opponent, Itzamna was relentless, swinging his right fist deep into my stomach.
Blood flew out from my mouth and I immediately felt my lower ribs shatter. The King twisted his body, smashing his elbow into my temple. Somehow, I managed to stay on my feet but was unable to react as Itzamna drove his knee into my upper chest. My body went numb as I was sent flying through a stone pillar, smashing into the wall of the throne room.
"All the magic prowess one could ask for. Though I suppose that is also your greatest weakness."
With blinding speed, Itzamna threw his fist through my jaw, unrelenting as he unleashed his strength, burying his punches into my face.
Right.
Left.
Right.
Left.
