Part 34: Get back yours

Now before Chase went to confront the league for pulling his contract without warning he had to ask Armani about something well about letting Chloe stay with her until he gets the house.He felt it was the right thing to have Chole around a girl role model. So he drove over to Armani house. "Hey listen I'm trying to get a house for me and chole is it Okay if she stays here until I get back onto my feet I have to go talk to the Neighborhood league about them pulling my contract. They pulled my contract without any warning. They are supposed to let me know that I was under review. I believe they pulled it because It's a youtube video of me training and practicing during my injury. Well in everyone's eyes that's what it looked like but I was actually trying to get back up onto my feet. I didn't even know it was possible for them to do that. So I'm about to go talk to them. See what they have to say I don't like how they tried that shit. Chase then got up and walked out of the door. He rushed down to the office before it closed. He got there and they refused to see him so he just went right back home. Well he didn't go home he went to Armani house until it was time for him to go pick up Chloe. He needs to go sue them because they are not allowed to pull his contract just because he is not playing in the playoffs because everyone is allowed to take a break for personal leave. Once he got to Armani house he came up with an idea that he could get the coach to suspend him so that, that way he could get his contract back. He told Armani the idea and she didn't like it. "You know if you are sure they will have to give you your contract back and they will have to boost it. I mean I don't know if you should go talk to the coach but the contract which I'm guessing you didn't read states that they can't pull your contract without informing you that you are under review. How about you go and pick up Chloe and then go talk to the coach." Armani said. That's exactly what he did. He went to the school to pick up Chloe and dropped her off at Armani house. He then went off to find coach kim. She was at the gym. "Good evening Coach, I wanted to talk to you about my contract and they ended up pulling it. They claim that it's because I don't want to play in the playoff games but I thought I was allowed to take personal breaks." Chase said. "Yeah no that's not what the contracts said it simply says that you're allowed to take out for personal reasons. You gotta go down there and talk to them or you can take them to court. You just have to get a copy of your contract and actually read it. So tomorrow you need to go down there and ask for a copy of your contract. They should give it to you since they pulled it. You should get home and get some rest if you decide that you wanna take them to court, do not mention it to them. Let them find out on their own because if you tell them that gives them time to prepare the lies and find a way in order to defeat you in court because if they pulled your contract without informing you they broke policy." Coach Kim said. Chase then decided to go home so that he could spend time with the girls before he went back home. He actually ended up cooking for them. He made some Chicken Alfredo with garlic bread and he made an oreo cheesecake. I can't even lie, it looked amazing before they ate it. Once they finished eating they played some games such as monopoly,and uno Then they began watching a movie. During the movie Chloe ended up going to sleep so Chase picked her up and carried her to her room. He was headed out of the door but Armani stopped him. "Why is it that you always try to play the hero Chase?You built a team to give people a second chance and give females an opportunity. Then you opened up your own shop and your own gym to make money to fix the team. You lost your parent's and started taking care of your sister. You bought your cousin over here and gave him a job. You even gave your brother a job. That's a good thing but why is it that you have to step up oh wait let's not forget how you played two whole fucking road games by yourself when the entire team got food poising but not once did they say thank you. Not once did they recognize you. Yet you still stand to play the hero." Armani said. Chase took a minute to respond. "I have a little sister and I take care of her because my mom did not give a fuck about what happened to her so I didn't think it was right to leave my sister in the house me and my mom weren't really close so I was already going to move out I just decided to take my sister with me. My mom chose her own boyfriend over her kids she pulled a whole fucking gun on me. What type of parent is that ? I stepped up for the team in those two games because they deserve to be there. They fought hard as hell throughout the season and guess what I wasn't there for half of it. I wasn't. I only played a few games yeah we got the wins but that doesn't mean anything. We worked as a team. That's all that matters. I wasn't going to let them forfeit after all of the work that they put in." Chase said. He didn't want Armani to see him getting emotional. So he got up and left. Once he got into the car he started having flashbacks of everything that happened to him from his mom pulling a gun on him to him being shot by dirty cops then to him being abused by officers inside of his own shop. He began to break down and cry and there was a knock on the window. It was Armani so Chase rolled down the window but before Armani could say anything Chase said "what are you doing your supposed to be resting that foot go back in the house and lay down. Armani promised she would go lay down but only if he goes back in and has a talk with her about what's going on. She knew that something was wrong because he wasn't acting like his normal self plus he really pulled back out of the playoffs. So Chase agreed he went back with her and he explained everything to her letting her know that the flashbacks were holding him back and he didn't want the team to know that he wasn't playing in the playoffs because of that reason. Suddenly Chase got to thinking maybe he should play in the playoffs well the championship game they already one the other games and they made it to the championship. Chase felt like if he was to play basketball it would take his mind off of the flashbacks. Armani however just wanted him to go to therapy so they came to an agreement. "How about this let me play in the championship game if it doesn't take my mind off of the flashbacks I will go to therapy. Chase said and Armani agreed. So he went to the gym and started working. At this point Chase didn't really care about no contract, he just really cared about clearing his head and that's exactly what he focused on. He cleared his mind and he practiced until two in the morning and he went home. Everyone was sleeping but his brother's boyfriend was awkwardly sneaking around in the chase room. Chase was literally about to kill him but he just threw a punch and they ended up fighting. Chase went and got his brother and he let him know "I just beat your boyfriend the fuck up for creeping in my room if something end up missing he gonna end up missing. Chase left and he slept at Armani's house. He was ready to play in the championship. Which was only hours away. They were about to play in the biggest game of their lives. They were about to play in a professional stadium. In front of professionals to chase it was just like the start of the season. He was ready for it all. So the team met up at their stadium and they caught the bus to the other stadium and Chase decided that he wasn't going to give a speech this time he decided to just let the game play out. Which was actually a bad Idea. They ended up going into halftime down by seventeen and Chase remembered that if they were to lose he would have to go to therapy. SO he gave them a speech during halftime. "Now listen up y'all need to get y'all shit together. If we lose this game I have to go to therapy and that's honestly the one thing I fear is therapy because I refuse to talk about my problems and my issues. Now I wasn't going to say anything about it but y'all are my family I pulled out of the playoffs because after I got arrested for the cops planting drugs I seen the guy who raped my sister and I just keep having these flashbacks and I feared that maybe I would get onto that court and cause y'all the game. However a wise person said to me we all have to work together." Chase said it was quite for an good while until grant said "why didn't you say something you just said we family meaning you could of played in those other two games and we can all help you through it, It's not that hard to draw plays around it and if you have a flashback we can call a timeout trust me I had the same problem that didn't stop me from getting on the court plus once I scored my first basket it was a dunk so I took over the flashbacks." Grant said Chase smiled and they all decided that it was time for them to go get that trophy. On the first play back from halftime, Chase dunked on the other team and the flashbacks stopped. He ended up scoring 20 points along with grant. Star scored 25 they turned into a dynamic trio on the court to help come back and win the championship on their first year of the season. Now when A team does something like that you expect them to celebrate it just wasn't the team thing they decide to show sportsmanship they shook the opposing team hand even though they tried to ruin chase life when chase got to the coach hand he gripped him up and whispered in his ear "we are going to be here for a very long time and if you even think about cheating next year your ass will be behind bars along with your entire team because I have all the proof I need to prove that your team is full of cheaters." Chase said. Chase was going to do his job in keeping his team safe. Once the team got the trophy they did something for chase. It was a nice recognition. Coach Kim actually gave a speech. He was actually surprised. "Chase, we would all like to thank you. You gave a lot of people hope and a second chance. It was one rough season but you never gave up and you never let the team give up. You always gave the team some speeches and stepped up as a leader. We all needed something like this. I hope that you decide to let me continue to coach this team next year. We really have to give thanks for what you accomplished on the road when the whole team got food poisoning you refused to let us forfeit you played in those games by yourself. I wanna thank you because if it wasn't for you doing that we wouldn't be here today."
Hearing coach Kim say all of this just made Chase smile. Chase then noticed a jersey being lifted that had his name and his jersey number on it. They put his name up for him giving back to the community. Chase then got onto the stance. "I honestly tried my hardest. You know today I wasn't even going to play in this game. No matter how much I went through, I always tried my best to protect my team. I took custody of my sister because my mom only cared about her boyfriend. I have to live with the fact that she pulled a gun on me to protect her own boyfriend. I have to live with the fact that one of these teams tried to take my life from me just to win a game of basketball. I realize now that it's actually serious. It's more than just a game. We won this championship and trust me we will be back for a repeat next year. Now I understand that this neighborhood league is in fact crossed when they randomly pulled my contract. Well guess what I will play next year with or without a contract that shit can't stop me. I've been shot. I lost my mom and my dad and I'm still doing everything that I can. I'm even giving back to my community helping the less fortunate and helping young teens keep out the streets. Right now I'm just getting started. This isn't nothing to me. I also hate the fact that officers raided my shop, tore it apart and everything but they paid me for it. I'm extremely pissed because these officers planted drugs in my shop and beat me badly. Those officers are still on the force. In my eyes I will no longer trust the police. They are my rivals because the entire force is corrupted.
