Holden Ray made her way into the living room of her house where her dad was sat on the couch watching his favourite show, which she turned off and got a playful glare from her dad in return.

"Ah," he began, "is it give Holden attention time?" He teases and was answered with a playful swot as she hugged him. "You good honey?" He asks softly.

"Tired," she whined.

Her mom walked in with a plate of scrambled egg on toast, with a bottle of siracha in her left hand, "up baby. You need to eat, you've been sick every morning for the past few days" she said softly.

Holden sat up and placed her feet in her dads lap as she ate the eggs, "you look a lot better than you have been recently. You have a glow to you," her dad complimented.

The family of three were interrupted by a knock on the door, Elara got up and opened the door to be met with Mason- Holden's best friend. "Hey darling," she greeted and led him into the living room. "Do you want something to eat?" She offers after giving him her usual hug.

"I'm good thank you mama," Mason answered and took in Holden's appearance "you look less like shit than you have done recently."

"Don't be rude Mason," she sasses waving her fork with eggs on at him. Mason shook his head, and joined the family on the couch before Charlie took his daughters plate through to the kitchen and grabbed her a bottle of water, passing it to her before he kissed her cheek.

The routine was common, Mason spent as much time at the Ray household as he did his own. "Ready sweetheart?" Mason asks and Holden nodded getting up and following him to his car. "So you are feeling better right, and not just pretending to be better?" Mason asks seriously and Holden laugh softly as they buckle up.

She nods, "I'm feeling better, I promise Mase" she says and he nods picking up her hand and kissing the back of it as they pull into McKinley. The pair of best friends had always been affectionate, and had been friends since they were ten.

They took the friendship a step further and slept together, Holden wanting to lose her virginity to someone she could trust and Mason was who she asked. After they decided it was a one time only thing, and laughed it off- they actually couldn't stop laughing after they did it.

Though Holden knew despite how dysfunctional and funny it was, she was happy with the way she lost it and both she and Mason knew- the friendship was strong enough to get through sleeping together and they were back to normal with each other minutes after it happened.
