Charlie smiled softly at his daughters as they both sat with notebooks writing lists of exactly what would be needed this Holiday. "Okay so run through exactly who will be here for the holiday?" Charlie asks smiling as he held Asher against his chest, Beth having a nap with Elara upstairs.
"Noah will be staying overnight, despite living next door he wants to be here and then Bonnie and Sara will be coming over in the morning. Rachel will also be staying from the time school gets out because her dads are on another cruise and she doesn't want to be alone," Quinn said from her place.
Charlie nodded at that, "and they both will be staying with you I'm assuming Quinny?" He asks softly and earns a quick nod from a blushing Quinn.
"Sam, Stevie and Stacey as well as Aunt Mary and Uncle Dwight are coming over at around eleven. The twins will be opening the presents from Santa at their house and only opening family and friends presents here. Hence why we have all those presents under our tree," Holden explains and Charlie nodded.
"Seb, Skylar, aunt Camille and uncle Nik are coming around the same time as the Evans family" Quinn takes over.
"Okay so with the food?" Charlie asks getting out his own piece of paper to plan that part of the day, "Bonnie will be bringing over some traditional Jewish foods-"
"-and Rache will be going over to help with some of that as well" Holden points out and Charlie nodded adding Rachel's name next to Bonnie's. "And Noah I think?" She adds.
"Yeah, me and Noah will be helping Bonnie and Rae with that. We'll be doing it with Sara too," Quinn answers her sister.
"Okay, so I'll be cooking for our five" Charlie begins referencing the five Ray's- himself, Elara, Holden, Quinn and Mason. "Another ten adults because Skylar is only a couple years younger than Seb right?" Earning a nod, "and then three children?"
"Yeah, so you'll definitely need a big bird daddio" Mason teases as he came in immediately taking his son into his arms, "and maybe another two adults? Matt and his dad haven't really celebrated Christmas since his mom passed away and I'd like to have them here" he puts in hopefully and Charlie nods immediately adding Matt and his dad to the list.
"Can I-"
"Yes, call Mike now if you want and invite him and his parents over for Christmas" Charlie said without the need of Holden to finish what she was saying earning a bright smile from the blue eyed blonde.
Within minutes Holden came back in with a smile, "so it will be twenty and then three seven year olds and two nine month year olds," she says grinning happily.
"It's good we bought a big house," Charlie muttered with a smile on his face that Holden returned, having known that her parents loved hosting and having the house full always.
Having already opened her first gift of the holiday in the last Glee meeting of the year, due to the Glee club deciding to host a secret Santa amongst themselves rather than buying everyone gifts- Holden was ready for the crazy holidays she would be having.
She wanted everything to be perfect, but knew deep down that it wasn't important if it was. Asher wasn't old enough to understand Christmas; but it didn't stop Holden from worrying about making this an amazing first Christmas for her son.
Mason knew her well and managed to stop his best friend from spiralling too much, and with help from their friends had Holden doing holiday activities to the point she couldn't worry about not getting a certain toy for her son.
Her favourite activity to before Christmas Day was when the whole glee club, as well as Kurt, Sebastian, Mason and Blaine were all at the Ray house and they were making Holiday cookies before watching movies for the remainder of the day.
The cookies ranging in type and shape, even with some Star of David almond and white chocolate cookies thrown in for Rachel, and Noah and the Dharma Wheel for Penelope as well as the traditional cross for Quinn, and Mercedes.
Holden knew others weren't religious and used the same batter and made some LGBTQ+ themed. With the traditional pride flag, as well as the trans flag for Tamzin and Blaine who were both very open about their identity, the lesbian community flag for; Santana, and Tamzin. The gay flag for; Kurt, Matt, and Adrien. The pansexual flag for herself, Brittany, Blaine, Mike, Lillie and Sam. The asexual community flag for Mercedes and Artie. The bisexual flag for Mason, Sebastian, Noah, Quinn and Rachel. And then the demisexual flag for Finn and Penelope.
Everyone was very appreciative of these cookies and Holden smiled happily at how accepted her friends all felt in her home.
Christmas Day was everything Holden imagined it would be, all the parents spent time in the kitchen together helping each other with the spread. With Holden knowing they had all gotten in contact before the twenty-fifth to discuss who would be doing what. With Julie Chang bringing some traditional Asian food too.
The spread at the Ray home was filled with multiple cultures and cuisines, the traditional Christmas dinner spread, some Jewish dishes and the Asian dishes.
Everybody enjoyed and both Asher and Beth even got their share, with Elara, Camille and Mary making baby friendly dishes out of the food everyone else was eating.
