As a kid, I'm sure you heard
That your freedom would come free
But what they never told you was
True freedom has a feeThey drill you from the day you're born
On how to be a slave
Submissive social heiarchy
Only rebels misbehaveOur souls are bound by silver chains
And grace with fancy locks
Not even God above could break
Eternity on the clockSome people find a true escape
In razors, pills, or ropes
Though some will spend their whole lives trapped
With falsely pleasant hopesSo no one ever really says
The cost of being free
Reality is much more gruesome;
It costs your sanity
