"Jesus, Rebel. Got enough syrup on your pancakes?" Watching the mutant eat his pile of pancakes that's smothered in golden brown, sticky spice maple syrup.
"Fuck you." He answer with mouth full of his sweet breakfast.
"No thanks." I joke causing him to cough. "Don't choke, don't choke." I plead handing him my glass of coffee.
"Not funny." He grumbled after swallowing the lump that almost choked him.
"What is that a yes?" Staring at him awaiting a reaction, but he just froze.
"I think you broke him." Johnny commented seeing the frozen mutant staring absent mindlessly into the air. "What did you tell him?" He asks as he pour himself coffee.
"I would prefer not answer to that." I say not breaking eye contact from the green teenager.
"Well, this conversation has been riveting." Johnny says before walking away as we continue our weird stand still.
"Rebel." Tapping him, I manage to break his shock, "come on finish eating. You're brother is expecting us." I remind him.
It's been weeks since the incident with the purple dragons, and his brothers don't like me or Johnny, but unfortunately for me I'm the one that sees Rebel the most.
"Right, you know you don't have to do this if you don't want to." He tells me again.
"What want me all to yourself." Continuing my teasing.
"What if I do?" This made me freeze up. We kissed once and since then we have been teasing each other, like a bad game of chicken to see who will fold first and kiss the other again. At least that's what I'm waiting on.
"Well, you're doing a horrid job with that." Pretending to be snobby I continue eating and check my phone.Vanessa: Good luck today.
Amy: do you think we could meet them again? I have so many questions for Domino.
Erika: could you tell them I'm sorry for how I acted. I wish I could take it back.
After the fight with Oscar I've been more honest with my friends. So I told them everything, and I really mean everything. From how me and Johnny started how long, and may have accidentally told them that Rebel and I kissed. Rebel still hangs out with us a lot, so naturally his brothers want to make sure I'm safe to be around. Johnny was supposed to come, but he had to run some errand for Angel plus he promised Vanessa a surprise date so he asked for a rain check.
"You ready?" I hear next to me, locking my phone I finish my last bit of coffee, "Yeah let's go.""So (y/n), I see you and my brother spend a lot of time together, are you two dating?" His oldest brother could have started this differently but he does this to me. "We're just friends." Rushed out of my mouth as Rebel rambled "No, no, you promised you wouldn't do this."
His blue eyes narrow at me, I didn't take offense to it. He wasn't the first mutant to have trust issues with me. Just a few days ago, Rebel had to pull me from mutant cat that tried attacking me. It took awhile but eventually we were able to get him calm, and fixed up. Due to the trauma that he went through Johnny was able to escort him to secrete train station where it'll take them to a different city that had very little humans. The few humans that were there were doctors and nurses and social workers. Johnny of course stayed with them until they were settled so he just got back.
"Very well, you say that you help mutants and that your family has been doing this for a long time. I want proof." He challenged me.
"Okay, let's go." I say grabbing my stuff.
This clearly stunned him, as if he wasn't expecting an answer so quickly.
"Myles, Domino get ready we're leaving!" Levi yelled out loud enough for his brothers to hear. Few minutes go by and they walk out of their rooms, "hey dudette." Myles greeted me.
"Hello." Domino awkwardly waved.
"Alright follow me." I say.
"Hey, hold up, how are you going to prove it to them." Rebel whispered beside me.
"Remember the mutant cat?" I ask him. He nods his head, "We're going to see him and all the other mutants." I said simply."Is that a bullet train? I didn't know we even had trains faster than the ones people used." Domino looked at speedy train with awe.
"Yea, it's a private train so not a lot of people are allowed, plus it's fast enough to get mutants out of here without being seen." I answer.
"So is this what you're brother wants to get into?" Rebel ask me remembering he wanted to get into the technological side of this work. Simply nodding, I punch in a code stating we are visiting the safe haven away from most people.
"Come on." I say grabbing Rebel's hand and pulling him into the train.
"Whoa this thing looks so cool." Myles eyes widen in wonder looking around seeing TVs for every seat along with a robot that brings snacks.
"How do you summon the snacks dudette?" Myles plopped onto a seat that had a movie he seemed interested in. Walking toward his seat, I showed him the touch screen TV also worked as a way to ask for snack or drinks. He order chips and soda and the robot came by for him grab his chips and drink, "what happens if I grab the cookies too?" He then asked.
"You get cookies." I answered before being pulled away by Rebel, "Stop being weird." Rebel threatened to his youngest brother. He finds a seat for us. "It's not a problem you know." I tell him. "Yeah, well, I want you all for myself." He admits to me. His arm wrap around my shoulder as he puts on a show that we've been watching together. I felt draggers being sent, not wanting to meet Levi's eyes I focused my attention on the show.It wasn't long before we docked. Waiting for automated message saying it's safe to get off the train, I paused the show, got up and stretched. Rebel got up with me.
"Hey, (y/n) is there a bathroom here?" Myles asked probably from drinking all that soda.
"You got to be kidding me." Rebel grumpily says as he shakes his head. Heading out the door, I signal for Myles to follow me. Leading him to the closest bathroom.
"How is this proof? You trying to butter us up?" Levi voice was angry to say the least.
"Will you just give her a chance!" Rebel defended.
"Enough, you want proof, I'll give it to you, but calm your fucking tits. Seriously you took enough chance following me here and give your brother some credit that he can take care of himself." I was exhausted from the accusations and the bickering. "(Y/n)?" An familiar voice questioned looking back I see an old face.
Looks like this was enough for Levi, as his eyes widen, "I see you're still doing the lord's work." She was an older mutant, she was a grandmother before. Of course until she was kidnapped and was turned into a rabbit. From what I understand she runs a day care here.
"Ava, yeah I'm still helping when I can." I hug her. I haven't seen her in almost a year.
"I see you made some new friends." She commented looking at the boys. "Alright dudes-" Myles was caught off guard.
"What are you doing here anyways?" I question the older woman.
"Oh I have a date, wouldn't you know. It's been lonely since my husband died years ago, but even more lonely now that I can't see my kids or grandkids. However thanks to you I've got a second chance at life again. My day care is growing, plus I met another rabbit." She smiles. I couldn't help but smile with her.
"So he works at the station?" I ask.
"Oh yes, now I won't keep you here I'm sure you got plenty of work to do." She tells me before giving me one last hug.
"Ava, I'm over here!" I hear an older man's voice turning I see another rabbit.
"Have fun." I tell her before going back to the turtles.
"Was that proof enough for you fearless?" Rebel's smirk said it all as Levi face has yet to change from the state of shock.
