Kaimana Valencia | April 1996
"Can we all just agree that no matter what, Voldemort's comeback is for nothing beneficial for anyone but him?" Harry said, and leaned back in his seat.
"Really, Harry?" Quinn drawled sardonically. "Because I thought Voldemort was here to give us all cakes and flying ponies."
"Oh, sod off, Quinn." Harry glared at said boy.
Kaimana was sitting on the floor in the common room with Zaiyah on her lap, scribbling all over the piece of parchment in front of her with a crayon.
A bunch of her housemates were gathered in the common room and the topic of Voldemort just came up. It was early on a Saturday morning, so not everyone was up.
"Has he done anything since he came back?" Kaimana asked as she stroked Zaiyah's hair, which was growing really quickly.
"Not that anyone's noticed," Ginny said from the couch, still wearing her pajama set and slippers. "But it's bad because this means he's planning something."
"He's dangerous, he is," Neville said, a little fearfully. "He's a dangerous man. He's never up to any good. We all should keep an eye out."
"Do you think it's got something to do with the Malfoys?" Harry's question made Kaimana's bones tense. "Because everyone knows how Lucius praises Voldemort slash Tom Riddle."
It never occurred to Kaimana that Voldemort could be associated with the Malfoys. But for what? What did Voldemort need from the Malfoys that he couldn't get himself?
"Voldemort's definitely got something to do with this." Hermione walked in the common room and dropped a copy of the Daily Prophet on the coffee table, making Zaiyah's parchment woosh off the timber.
"Ermie bad!" Zaiyah angrily said, and got off her mum's lap and stomped to pick up her parchment from the floor.
"Sorry, Zaiyah," Hermione said apologetically. "But anyway, look at the Daily Prophet today."
Harry was the first to reach for it from where he sat on the armchair. He rested his elbows on his knees and read with a serious expression. Then his eyes widened in shock. "Bloody hell," he muttered, and handed the paper to Quinn.
Quinn read it and then he scoffed, shaking his head in what seemed like bafflement. He handed it to Ginny, who was sitting next to him on the couch.
Ginny had the same reaction.
"Can someone read it out loud instead of passing it around?" Kaimana snapped impatiently as Zaiyah stood in the middle of her criss-crossed legs to continue drawing.
Quinn grabbed the Daily Prophet from Ginny and since Kaimana was sitting in front of the couch on the ground, he held the paper in front of her face.
ASTORIA GREENGRASS MISSING!
Kaimana had to suppress her scoff.
Astoria Greengrass (age 19, brown hair, 5"2, and green eyes) has gone missing. She was last seen on April 25th at the ball held at Hogwarts University. Friends, who reported Greengrass missing, report that Greengrass seemed distressed and distracted on that night of the ball. Roommate, Asha Rae, claims that Greengrass' bed was unslept in the morning after the ball and no one had seen her since. But family reports that this behaviour of going missing is normal for Greengrass.
"She usually shows up a few days later," Mr. Greengrass had said in his statement.
This is officially a pending investigation. If anyone has seen or heard from Greengrass, please contact the Ministry of Magic.
