Kaimana Valencia | June 1996
"You need to close your eyes for a second," Kaimana said, putting her hands over his eyes to obscure his vision.
"But you're doing it for me," Draco plainly reported as she guided him up the last step to the Astronomy Tower.
"No, you have to do it yourself for a second." She turned him around and grabbed his hands to put them over his own eyes. "Please don't look yet."
"Only because you said please." He stayed facing the stairs, blocking his eyes.
She pulled out her wand and flicked it towards her setup. The candles lit up and she smiled proudly. She put her wand back in her waistband before going in front of Draco.
She closed her fingers around his wrists and took his hands from his eyes. "Turn around." She was really excited about this.
He stared at her with narrowed eyes and furrowed brows. "Why? What's behind me? If I turn around and you whack me in the head with something and then kill me, I'll haunt you."
"Turn around, stalker."
"But your excitement is scaring me. What's behind me?" He held her hands tightly in his.
She rolled her eyes and walked to the spot, guiding him to it.
She saw his mouth fall open when he saw it.
She stood beside him and smiled proudly at her setup. She put a large red blanket on the floor, where they first had a real conversation. She had candles scattered around the blanket, lit.
She had a picnic basket and two flute glasses on the corner of the blanket. She had throw pillows littered all over and a few other blankets in case it got cold since it was night time. They had a perfect view of the stars and the deep blue sky.
"Happy birthday, my lovely," she beamed, and looked up to see his face.
He didn't move. His jaw was still hung low.
Her brows frowned. "Are you okay?" She stepped in front of him.
Nothing.
She held him by his hips and shook him. "Draco?" She was confused.
But when he spoke, his voice was hoarse. "Who is this for?" He captured her gaze.
"Voldemort."
His jaw ticked.
"It's for you, dummy."
"Me?"
"You." She nodded, bemused.
"Why?" He appeared shocked, stunned.
She frowned. "Because it's your birthday. I just... I wanted to show you some appreciation too," she said quietly, her arms falling to her sides.
"You did this for me?" he asked again, brows knitted together.
She nodded, feeling the heat rush to her cheeks. "If you don't like it, I can just eat the food myself and then throw the rest of the shit—" She was cut off when his soft lips slammed into hers.
She melted immediately and curled her arms around his middle, pulling him closer to her. She felt his hands come to her jaw, palming it as their tongues swept past each other.
But she smiled coyly when he smirked against her mouth. "Thank you, Clover," he murmured. "This... this is amazing. I've never had anyone put this much effort in for me, so thank you." His thumbs brushed her cheekbones, one of his thumbs brushing over her scar.
