Draco Malfoy | July 1996
But it was all real.
Everything was real.
Between him and Kaimana—it was all real.
And yet, she left him.
He couldn't be mad at her, of course not. But he could be mad at himself and he could be sad and somber about the whole thing.
But of course, ha ha, he couldn't show his feelings because he was at his manor. He could only cry actual tears in the shower or when he was in his bedroom.
Yes, tears. That was how bad this was. Kaimana actually made him cry tears when she just left.
He felt empty by simply the thought that Kaimana wasn't with him and by the fact that he wouldn't be able to see Zaiyah.
So he only let his emotions show when he was alone, but when he was out of his bedroom, he had to plaster on a neutral face.
He didn't open up to Kaimana about his sexual assault story for the task—initially yes, but he ended up venting to her because he felt so comfortable and trusting with her. Now, she probably thought it was a mistake to open up to him.
No words could explain how badly he was hurt the night she walked off. He knew it wasn't her fault, and he couldn't even blame her for how she reacted.
It just really hurt him. It hurt him in his heart. He couldn't even begin to imagine how badly Kaimana was hurt by this. And Zaiyah. His mom amour.
Just thinking about the entire thing made his heart ache. He loved both of them so much, and he just fucked it all up.
But he was being honest. He needed to tell the truth, and he did. Well, everyone got hurt by the truth, but it was out there. He tried to write Kaimana multiple times, but she never wrote back. He didn't expect her to.
He was going to fix this though. He didn't know how, but he was going to fix this because he loved his girls more than anything—
"Draco?"
Draco blinked and lifted his eyes to see his mother. "Yes?"
"Is everything alright, my dear?" Narcissa's brows frowned as she sat next to him at the kitchen table. "You haven't touched your sandwich."
"I'm just not all that hungry at the moment." He was never hungry anymore. He barely ate, but he was able to cram down a few pieces of food when he needed to when Voldemort came for a fucking stupid fucking dinner.
"Oh, that's alright." Narcissa smiled faintly and took the plate from him to put aside. "Is this about the task, Draco?"
"The what?" he blurted.
"The task," she repeated, and went to sit next to him. "Has that been what's stressing you since you got home?"
"Sort of." He shrugged and crossed his forearms over the table. "Mother, you know why the Lord wants to retaliate against Valencia, right?"
"I do. Why?" She seemed confused, gently rubbing his arm. "Do you know?"
"Can you tell me?" he asked instead because no one knew except Snape that he knew. And Snape wasn't even supposed to say anything. "I feel like the task would be easier if I actually understood the entire situation."
"Well." His mother exhaled a sigh and entwined her fingers on the table in front of her. "Kaimana Valencia did something unforgivable to someone important to the Lord. We don't know what exactly she did to this important someone, but we do know she did something."
