Kaimana Valencia | April 1997
Kaimana sat in the armchair in front of the window, staring at the backyard of Malfoy Manor.
No words could even come close to explaining how she hated the aura she got from this house.
But the backyard was beautiful—and huge. There was a garden that sprung with several different colours and the backyard had tall hedge fences.
Half of the yard was stone floor, and the other was grass. There was a treehouse in the far corner with a swing, presumably for Draco when he was younger.
Kaimana had been up for a while, refusing to eat since her homesickness was hitting harder on this day. But Draco had left her three chocolate clovers on the nightstand in case she wanted to munch on something.
She hugged her thighs to her chest, her chin resting on her knee. She was wearing the clothes Narcissa gave her to wear—lounging pants and a T-shirt. She had no shoes or socks.
Kaimana was currently counting the amount of trees she could see in the backyard from where she was—she was at twelve.
But she got interrupted when her door swung open aggressively, slamming into the wall. Her heart suddenly began to beat triple time at the angry face of the woman who stood at the door.
"YOU!" the woman roared angrily in a rough, man-ish voice. This woman had dark curly, messy hair and she was pale. She had dark clothing and eyes as wild as eyes go. "STUPID GIRL!"
Kaimana froze, quickly realizing that this was Bellatrix Lestrange.
Bellatrix strode furiously to her and yanked her up by her bicep. Bellatrix's grip was painfully tight as she dragged Kaimana out of the room.
"You think you could outsmart the Dark Lord, huh?" Bellatrix's voice was loud, snarky. She was dragging Kaimana down the grand staircase, and she could barely keep up with the pace Bellatrix was going at. "Stupid, stupid girl."
Kaimana's heart was pounding in her chest as her throat closed. She didn't know what to do at that moment—her mind completing blanking—so she let the woman drag her.
Everyone bone in her body was tense, her cells tight with tension. She wasn't scared, but she was alarmed and panicked.
She clenched her jaw when Bellatrix's nails dug deeply into the soft flesh of her bicep, feeling her arm sting almost immediately. She was going to have marks from this.
Bellatrix was muttering angrily as she dragged Kaimana around the manor to what looked like a drawing room. She threw Kaimana to the floor, blocking her only way of escaping.
Kaimana whimpered slightly as she collided to the floor, her hand instinctively going to her bicep to rub the pain away. She sat up, scooting back from the woman.
Bellatrix had a nasty snarl on her lips. "How dare you?!" Her voice was loud and harsh on Kaimana's ears. "How dare you think you could outsmart the Lord!" She thrusted her wand in Kaimana's face.
Kaimana's heart pulsed in her ears, every molecule in her body roaring at her to find a way out. But she thought about it, and there was no way around the woman.
Bellatrix appeared to be unhinged and impulsive—she seemed like the person to do whatever popped into her head first. She had a wand, a weapon—and Kaimana did not.
"Where is your pathetic father?!" Bellatrix shouted furiously, her eyes big and blazed with hatred. "Where is he! You tell me right now!"
"I don't know where he is." Kaimana found her voice, and it was surprisingly even. "I haven't been home in months."
