"Master, Xiaolan failed. She was on her way out of the country, so I had to do plan B. However..." Li Qiang's face immediately turned into a scowl when he heard the words on the other side of the call.
"However what?" Hi hissed.
"We were not able to kill Xiaolan. She did not take the route that we prepared for her. We are still..." .
"STUPID! Find her! We need to eliminate her. I don't want her ruining my plans in the future." He gritted his teeth in annoyance. That Jennie must be really smart for causing failure towards Xiaolan's plans.
"Yes, Master. How about the Manoban Family?"
"What about them?"
"The current Mnaoban patriarch and Zhao Chittip are snooping around. Trying to see who is causing trouble for the Manoabn Conglomerates branches abroad. I fear that they will find out about our intentions to buy out some of the minority shareholders."
Li Qiang closed his eyes and started to massage his temples. "Leave them for now. Focus on looking for Xiaolan. She and her mother is a loose end. We need them gone."
"Understood."
Then Li Qiang cut the call without saying anything.
He leaned back into his chair. His eyes still close.
"Qiang?" Li Qiang instantly opened his eyes and jolted up when he heard Wang Ruo's sweet voice. He saw Wang Ruo standing at the door, sweetly smiling towards him."I didn't know that you were asleep. I'm sorry to disturb you."
"Oh no... I was just thinking. Come..." he gestured Wang Ruo to come sit across his desk. "Are you done with your painting?"
"Mostly." Wang Ruo answered as she lowered her head. "I... I wanted to meet our daughter." she declared after she took her seat.
Her words instantly surprised Li Qiang.
"I mean... It's been a while since I woke up and I... I haven't met her yet... So I... If it's not okay... then I... I understand." Wang Ruo's voice started to break, her gaze still lower.
"No... it's not like that... It's just that our Nancy is still busy with a film. How about this... I will ask her to come to visit us once she is done filming? What do you think?" Li Qiang said.
"Really?" Wang Ruo's sullen state instantly brightened when she heard Li Qiang's voice.
"Really," he answered, smiling as he walked towards her and pulled her into a hug. "Don't worry. I'm sure she will be happy to see you. She missed you a lot."
In response, Wang Ruo just nodded, her gaze unfathomable. Then an unrecognizable glint flashed into her eyes. As her lips slowly turn into a chilling smile.

After Jennie and Lisa went to the police station for Lisa's statement, the duo then went to the Manoban Conglomerate to concentrate on Xiaolan's matter.
"I know it's stupid for me to act like this but there was something in the way she said it... like... I can't explain... It makes me... unsettled." Jennie said as she accepted the cup of tea that Lisa made for her.
In response, Lisa just let out a sigh and stared at his wife. Maybe it's time for them to talk.
Seeing Lisa's reaction, Jennie narrowed her eyes at her husband. "You know something." She stated. "You are hiding something from me. What is it?"
However, before Lisa can utter a word, the door to his room was abruptly open revealing a panting Wang Mino. « Xiaolan's mother died."
In spite of the sudden disturbance, Jennie did not leave her gaze towards Lisa, making the latter uncomfortable. "I will tell you later. I promise. » Lisa said before he turned towards Wang Mino. "What happen?"
"I just got the call. The police said she killed herself." Wang Mino answered, ignoring the unusual atmosphere between jennie and Lisa,
"So someone wanted to silence her." Lisa stated. There is no way that Zhang Liyin would commit suicide.
"How about Xiaolan? Did you find her?" Wang Mino asked.
In response, Lisa shook his head.
"Bei Ye found at least three flights under her name. All of which depart without her." Jennie said. "She already planned to leave even before she met me."
"Do you think she..."
"No. I don't think she killed her mother." Lisa interrupted Wang Mino. "She arranged this so her parents could suffer. She would not want to kill her now. That's too easy."
"I agree. Someone must have wanted to avoid any further complications." Jennie added. This time she is sure that Xiaolan was telling the truth. Someone else was behind this.
Someone was acting god and is playing everything within his or her palm.
The thought of Xiaolan's words instantly replayed their whole conversation in Jennie's mind.
She laid out everything that had happened since this started.
Everything started with Xiaolan telling someone she is pregnant with Wang Mino's child. Then the attacks, then someone attempted to seduce Lisa the problems in JRJ publishing company, then Grandfather Manoban's birthday which ended in Zouyi's poisoning, issues against Lisa then Honglie's supposed death followed by them figuring out it was Xiaolan. This was followed by Xiaolan's accusations towards Lisa and the Manoban Conglomerate's statement. Then there was the discovery that Honglie was alive and was kept by his own son so she could torture him.
Of course, the highlight would be Jennie's meeting with Xiaolan which led to the rescue of Honglie who was still in a coma. Then Zhang Liyin went to the police to confess, and Xiaolan decided to leave the county. And now Zhang Liyin's death.
Xiaolan's words continued to echo inside Jennie's mind as her eyes suddenly widened. Eureka, she thought.
She believed she just found out the true purpose of the person behind all this.
