Oliver was on edge twenty-four seven. He couldn't sleep with the paranoia of what Evelyn could be doing, or what she might do in the future.

The nights he spent with horrific, descriptive nightmares. All of him watching Evelyn slaughter every living thing in her path, blood trailing behind her and pooling at her feet. Her steps were like fire, destroying anything in its path.

Something inside of him told him it wasn't a dream. But the reality that hadn't happened. Not yet at least.

"Oliver," Hayley called, stopping in his doorway to stare at him. His head had been in his hands, but he looked up once she called his name. "What's going on? Why's everyone so on edge? Didn't Evelyn come back?"

"She did." He responded vaguely.

"So what happened?" She asked.

He sighed. "She shut it off." He answered, instantly catching her attention.

"She what?" Hayley was unsure she had heard him correctly.

"I was there. I-I tried to convince her not to do it, but she didn't listen. She was in so much pain, Hayley. And yet, I couldn't do anything about it." He whispered thoughtfully, gazing at her with guilty eyes.

She sighed and sat beside him on the bed. "Don't feel guilty about something out of your control. We'll get her humanity back."

"You sound just like Hope." He muttered.

"It's true. We'll get her humanity back. We'll bring her back. It's just a matter of time."

"You Mikaelsons don't give up, do you?"

She smiled at him. "Never." He smiled back, but it didn't reach his eyes. It was forced. He nodded as the loud, wooden doors to the compound swung open, hitting the brick wall behind it.

"Hello?" Camille called out, multiple folders in her hands. Oliver and Hayley quickly walked downstairs where Klaus had already appeared, standing in front of Camille.

"What is it?" Hayley asked.

"The death rate in New Orleans is spiking. Ten bodies have been found within the last week, all of them in alleyways." Cami explained.

"Bloody hell." Klaus mumbled.

"But that's not all."

"What?" Oliver asked, confused.

"They all have carvings embedded into their skin," She walked to a table and opened the files, the three following. "E.M. All of them are on different parts of their bodies: neck, cheek, arm, wrist, legs, back, etcetera. This was a vampire's doing."

"E.M? There's multiple vampires by E.M. in town. How do we know which one did it?" Oliver asked.

Klaus suddenly stormed off, Oliver lifting his arms in outrage, and up the stairs toward Evelyn's room, coming back a few moments later with an object in his hand.
