"Evelyn." A distorted voice calls out. I slightly stir, my head feeling like it was hit one too many times. "Evelyn. You need to wake up!" Whoever is talking is shouting and making my headache worse. "EVELYN!" A voice screams, making me reach out and punch them.
"Holy shit." Another voice whispers, this time a male. Then I smell blood.
I flutter my eyes open and hazily look around. I have trouble refocusing my gaze, but when I do, I look up at Xander and... "Angel?" I question, confused.
"You need to drink." She says, touching the blood underneath her nose.
She reaches out to give it to me, but my hand snaps around hers, keeping it tightly in place. "You are in no place to be giving me your blood, Angel." I seethe. She looks at me, taken aback. I lean up on my single forearm and glare at her. "How are you even here? I thought you left after that argument."
"I'm in your head, Evelyn." She says, and I narrow my eyes.
"You're sitting right here. And I'm touching you. How the hell are you in my head?" I ask, beyond befuddled.
"I was in your head. Now, I've left your body. To save your ass." She states, narrowing her eyes at me like I had done moments before.
"Then who was the other girl?"
"I'm disappointed. You didn't actually think that I would hurt you, did you? I've been in your head, making you look like a psychopath who talks to herself!" She exclaims.
"There's a first for everything."
"You need to feed." She urges.
I glare. "If you've been in my head, you'd know that I haven't quite gained control over my bloodlust." I growl.
"Seems like you're doing it now." She states.
"Well—" I cut off as the doors open, Quinn, Ady, Camille, and my family walking inside. My fangs grow, my bloodlust rises, and I know that my eyes are glowing. I'm about to lunge, but a wrist is quickly pressed to my mouth, blood draining into my mouth. My hand wraps around their wrist, keeping it to my mouth.
"What is she doing?" I hear Ady ask, but I don't respond.
"She's feeding." Freya responds.
"He looks like he's about dead." Quinn mutters. "Did she really drain him that fast?"
When I pull away, I feel slightly better and my wounds heal tremendously. I look at Xander to see him looking a little loopy. "Shit, did I drink too much?" I ask, sitting up straight.
"I'll be fine." He waves a hand, but I'm not convinced.
