"Finally." Angel sighs from beside me. "You don't know how long I've been trying to get back inside your body."
"You do know how dirty that sounds, right?" I ask, raising an eyebrow as we walk down the hallway.
"You know what I mean." She rolls her eyes.
I do know what she means. She means that she's back to sharing my body like she was before.
"You do realize you almost died, right?" I ask.
She had told me about how I created a new spell, but I already knew that. Depending on if my dream from last night was true.
"Yes. I'm still trying to learn to control my energy, so I don't die." She says, and I nod slowly. "But I might have to see an acquaintance of mine." She mutters.
"How does that work, anyway? Like, how come you almost died after being out of my body for a long while? Aren't you able to walk the earth freely?"
I'm probably bombarding her, but I'm curious.
"We are able to walk the earth freely, yes. But if we were to find a host," She gestures to me. "our bodies would lose our normal routine, because we basically feed off of your soul and your energy."
"I don't feel you feeding off of me."
"Because it's harmless. We don't need much energy to survive. Plus, you sleep and eat and refuel your energy. It's an endless supply." She explains.
"So, your body almost collapsed because you got too used to feeding off of me and my energy?" She nods. "Then how come you didn't stay while I had the hex?"
"Two reasons. One, to help Alexander and your friends. Two, because I was kicked out of your body." She says, and I freeze in the hallway.
"What are you talking about?"
"The hex wasn't the only problem, was it?" I furrow my brows in confusion. She continues, "You were fighting something else. When you stabbed yourself with vervain, you were talking to someone. Someone only you could see. Someone you thought you killed." Every sentence she speaks, she takes a step toward me.
"Dark Ev." I whisper, and she nods in confirmation. "But she was just a hallucination. There's no way that she's still alive." I deny it.
"She wasn't a hallucination. She's something that only you can see. She blocked me, Evelyn. Not even you know how to do that."
"Then how come I don't see her often?"
"She was locked away and you had control over her. Until the hex. With the hex, she was able to feed off of the negative energy and grow stronger. That's how she got out." She explains, and I sigh.
"So she's still inside of me."
"Correction: she's still locked in the back of your head. She's not going to just disappear. You have to control her, or she'll do the same thing. She'll jump at the opportunity to take control."
