Months have passed, and each month, the baby grew more and more and it was two months near the end of the pregnancy. Adalie had gone through some changes, a lot actually. She sleeps in the bed and Elk walks inside the cottage carrying a basket of veggies, and he catches a glimpse at her, and he smiles. He sets the basket down on a table next to him and he quietly goes to her, then lays beside the bed, resting his head on the mattress, watching her. Elk touches her cheek and Adalie softly opens her eyes and she smiles, "Hey hun." She pats the bed and Elk lays beside her and gently pulls her close, and sighs, "How are you feeling?" Adalie sighs, "Tired...the baby kicks, and it feels like I'm carrying a very heavy watermelon... More like two..."

Elk chuckles and she gently hits him, "It's not funny. You're lucky you're not the one holding this kid." Elk lifts the blanket and sees Adalie's horse belly, it was big from the baby growing and he gently pets it, "Kiddo's getting big." Adalie sits up and sighs, and Elk felt something tap his hand and he gasps, "I..I just felt the baby kick." He gently lays his head on her tummy and she giggles, petting his hair and he felt a couple more kicks, and he lifts is head up, "This kid is really active. Feeling a bunch of kicks. What's it doing in there? Flips?" Adalie laughs, "Keeps me up at night, a lot actually."

She pets her tummy, "What do you think the baby is gonna be?" He shrugs, "I don't know, but I do know one thing. No matter what, I'm going to love this kid no matter what, and protect them from any harm." Elk holds her close and kisses her gently, and Adalie smiles, then falls asleep in his arms. Elk gently lays her back down and covers her up with the blanket, kissing her forehead, then goes back outside to help Emilia and Josiah.

Elk walks with them and Emilia looks at him, "So Elk, when Adalie delivers the baby, I don't know if the delivery tent will have enough room for you, cuz well...I mean, I'm not trying to sound rude or anything, I just-" "I understand, just what do I do in that case?" Josiah sighs, "You might have to wait until they tell us how it went or what's going on. I was able to help Emilia when she was giving birth to Adalie, but I think it might be different for you." Hearing that made Elk concerned, "What if something happens to her and the baby?...What if she needs me? I...I have to be there, she might need me....gosh, I hope it goes well..."  Later that night, as Elk was sleeping, Adalie was awake getting her something to drink when she felt a pain, and she pants, "Oh no...no no no. It's two months early..." She whimpers and quickly hurries to the door and she looks at Elk who was fast asleep, hesitating and the pain grew more and she runs to the nurse tent as fast as she could quietly.
