Offspring of Nowhere (Centaurworld Fanfic)

Chapter 1: A Talk

About a couple months after their wedding, Elk and Adalie went together alone for a little honeymoon, traveling around Centaurworld and the human world, looking at places they've never been to or always wanted to revisit. In the human world, they had found a small cabin in the woods, and after fixing it up, they stayed there for a couple days and one day, Adalie was by the river humming and she feels Elk hug her from behind, nuzzling her shoulder and she giggles as he gives her kisses on her face. Adalie turns to him and they share a kiss together before they head back to the cabin and sit near the fireplace as a small, warm fire was crackling.

Adalie looks up at Elk, and looks down at the floor, "Hey hun?" "Hm?" He turns his head to look at her and Adalie continues, "What do you think of....children?" Elk shrugs before answering, "They're a handful, can be loud and troublesome, but still a blessing. Why do you ask?" Adalie looks at the ground, "Well...what if...we had kids of our own? Our own little offspring?" Elk's eyes widen a bit and he looks away for a bit, almost feeling overwhelmed, "I....I never had a thought of having my own kids....I never had the opportunity....I don't even know if I'll be a good enough father..." He stands up and walks to another room, Adalie following him and she looks at him with worry and Elk sighs, "I worry I might scare them....or not be there for them when they need me....would I even be a good dad?"

Adalie walks over to him and wraps her arms around his chest, hugging him, "I'm sure you'll be a great dad...we're not all perfect, but I know you would never do anything to hurt our children if we ever had any...I don't want you to start doubting yourself..." Elk lifts his head a bit, starting to remember how he used to see himself before, and he hugs Adalie back, gently running his fingers through her hair. A smile forms on his face, "Do you want to have kids?" Adalie felt her cheeks fluster and a small giggle leaves her mouth, "I...Well, I was asking what you were thinking of kids, but it would be nice to have kids of our own." She gets picks up and placed on Elk's back and he carries her.

She hangs on, laughing, "Elk, where are you taking me?" He chuckles, "Why not get started now?" Her face gets almost cherry red with blush and she buries her face in his shirt, "Now? Are you sure? Why not wait until later, that way it's lie...you know, more quiet?" Elk chuckles and Adalie gets set onto their bed and he snuggles her, "This cabin is in the middle of the woods, but if that's what you want, I'm fine with it." He nuzzles her, and she chuckles, holding him close, "So, we're wanting kids?" He nods, "I would love to have kids...especially with you by my side." Adalie kisses Elk's forehead, petting his hair and smiles at him, "You're going to be a great dad. I know it."
