Based on what I know, Lee Zii Jia wanted to become an international pro badminton star and left the Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM), BUT BAM penalized Lee Zii Jia by suspending him from participating in any international badminton tournaments and by what I know the situation is being resolved, but I still want to talk about BAM.
Note: The above info is how I interpreted the news, so some info MAY be incorrect.
I feel like what BAM did was TOO harsh and is an abuse of power. Lee Zii Jia could've been an international star and would bring a good name to Malaysia but because of the suspension, it would be impossible. Now, this is the thing that would affect the country. When you suspend players, other young stars will be scared by such authority, they would lose faith in Malaysia, and may not want to represent Malaysia in the future.
I hope BAM does something about it and not repeat the same mistake
