A/N
Hey everyone! Clarissa and Evelina here.
We've reached the end of "Sacrifice", therefore we would like to share a few words.
This fanfic was created six months ago. And let us tell you, during those few months we really gave our heart while writing each word.
To be allowed to create something to celebrate Levi's life, sounds like a privilege. To be allowed to do it with the support of every single one of you, is beyond beautiful.
So, thank you, from the bottom of our hearts. We want you to know that each view, comment, vote, made our hearts swell incredibly. We hope you enjoy this final chapter as much as we did while writing it.
"Sacrifice" has been a wonderful journey. And who knows, maybe we will come back with a sequel... ;) Sending lots of love to each one of you xx

Our officiant at the Shinto shrine is a nice old man who seems to be in his seventies. His face aged beautifully with wrinkles - it looks like he has been smiling a lot during his life as he radiates sunshine, creating a pleasant aura around. I shoot a quick look at Levi and notice his surprisingly relaxed figure and slightly smiling face. My eyes wander behind us where Touka - our only guest - is standing. And God, she looks perfectly calm too.
How exactly do they keep their shit together while I'm about to combust?!
On our way here, I overthought a practically immeasurable number of things that can go wrong in both possible and impossible ways, starting with basic tripping over the hem of my kimono and fucking up the ceremony to eathquicks and tsunamis. And maybe an alien attack. You never know when shit like this will happen, right?
Even when Levi noticed my panicking state and tried to calm me down with the gentle squeezes of my hand, it didn't work - I was freaking out. I still am.
Okay, Y/N. Fucking focus. Breathe.
While I'm desperately trying to catch some air, the officiant prepares everything for the ceremony on a small table in front of us. There are three nuptial cups and a golden kettle with sake decorated with fresh white flowers, from which the old man pours the liquid into the cups carefully. I watch him in awe, trying to focus on his swift and light movements rather than on my inner panic.
As the officiant begins our purification, I lean forward to gently grab the nuptial cup which contains the sake I have to drink. I then bring it close to my mouth to take the first sip. I swallow, while the burning liquid warms my throat.
After repeating the same action for two more times, I carefully place the cup back to where it was before, the officiant nodding at me.
Levi mirrors my actions, grabbing his nuptial cup and leading it to his lips, sipping and swallowing the sake three times. This time, after leaving the cup on the flat surface in front of us, the officiant hands Levi a parchment.
Levi unwraps it gently, revealing the beautiful kanjis that only he could have written so elegantly. As he clears his voice, he gives me a quick look, his eyes glistening. The world around me turns blurry as nothing but his voice exists any more.
"Y/N, my love,
Before meeting you, my life was just an endless path of loneliness. I didn't have that many people which I truly loved - and yet, I lost them all. I was lost and alone, without a single goal in life, without a single dream, without any desire to keep going. I kept living, but I wasn't alive; my demons were eating me from the inside waiting until I break. My heart was silently rotting behind those walls I built around it, pursuing only one goal - not to feel the destructive pain of losing someone I love.
