Tohru's Little Sister

Chapter 25

     Tokiko was dreading seeing Tohru in such a bad condition. She almost had deja vu from the time they saw their mom in that ambulance. Being carried away...never seeing her again. The doctor opened the door to reveal Tohru hooked up to multiple machines. Tokiko slowly walked in and stood next to Tohru. She felt herself about to cry. Just then, Tokiko felt the ghost of her father standing next to her. He put a hand on Tokiko's shoulder. He said, "My Toucan....you are so strong. Look after Tohru, for she is not as strong as you are. Look after your sister and help her always Tokiko. Don't let your hatred overpower your love." Then, Tokiko saw her mothers ghost caressing Tohru's hair. Tokiko said, "Momma?" Kyoko looked up and smiled at Tokiko. She said, "Hi To-Chan! Sorry to pop in so suddenly...But I heard every last one of you and Tohru's prayers. Both of us did. We're extremely proud of the young women you and Tohru are growing up to be." She walked over to Katsuya and hugged him. He held her by the waist and he said, "Sorry for leaving you guys so suddenly...especially when you needed us the most."
    Tokiko started to cry and said, "Will Tohru die?" Kyoko giggled and said, "Of course not...your love...and Kyo's love...will keep her alive." Tokiko said, "How do you know Kyo? Kyoko said, "I've spent a lot of time with Kyo when he was a little boy. He'd walk by our apartment and id catch 'em all the time." Tokiko said, "So you knew Kyo onii-Chan?! Did you know we were gonna meet him?" Kyoko said, "No, but I told him that if he did meet my adorable little girls. To protect you guys....I suppose he kept his promise." Tokiko smiled and looked down. Katsuya said, "Toucan...forgive Tohru for whatever grudge you hold against her. You're all she has as far as family goes...she needs you. Promise me you'll do that.." Tokiko looked up and said, "I- I promise daddy." Kyoko said, "And promise me...you'll forgive me for not being the best mother I could be to you." Tokiko's eyes went wide. Kyoko walked over to Tokiko and said, "You thought I didn't realize that? You despised Tohru so much...I could never realize why. Until, the day before I died I heard you two arguing. Arguing over who I loved more...what a silly fight to have! I love both of you equally....just like I love your father. Forgive me...please?"
    Tokiko ran to Kyoko and gave her a big hug. She said, "I'm sorry momma! I was just so jealous...but I didn't realize that Tohru was jealous of Daddy and I's relationship. I'm sorry Momma!" Kyoko patted Tokiko's head and said, "I'm sorry too...you should've never felt that way. I'm glad you were able to forgive me." Just then, Tohru started to stir up. Kyoko stood up and walked back over to Katsuya. She said, "Oops! Tohru is waking up, we have to go now! Goodbye Tokiko...remember what your father said and your promise to me..." Tokiko reached out and both Kyoko and Katsuya faded away. Tohru woke up coughing and Tokiko just stood there. She didn't know if what just happened was reality or not. Tohru opened her eyes and said, "Tokiko...To-Chan...is that you?" Tokiko slowly walked over to Tohru and held her hand. Tohru smiled and said, "Is Akito ok?! Where is she?" Tokiko started to cry and said, "Why are you concerned about her when you're the one whose injured?"
      Tohru giggled and said, "I guess that's just my heart Tokiko." Tokiko gripped her hand and said, "I'm just glad you're ok... Can you tell me what happened?" Tohru sat up slowly and said, "Akito was trying to explain to me how we ruined her life....I told her that we should start over and be friends. We were hugging when the cliff gave out under me. I pushed her back so she wouldn't fall with me. She even reached out for me and she almost caught my hand...but she didn't." Tokiko bucked her eyes and immediately felt bad. Tokiko said, "Oh...so she was telling the truth." Tohru said, "What do you mean?" Tokiko started playing with her fingers and said, "We all actually thought she pushed you...I even beat her up cause I got so angry. When Kyo carried you back to the house...I was so angry." Tohru snapped her neck around and said , "Kyo carried me?! What about the curse?" Tokiko said, "His and Shigure's curse have been broken." Tohru smiled and said, "This is great! We need to tell Isuzu.." Tokiko said, "Oh that's the horse bitch, right?"
    Tohru pinched her ear and said, "That's not nice! That's Haru's girlfriend and also a member of the Sohma family." Tokiko rolled her eyes and said, "I'm just glad you're ok.." Tohru patted Tokiko on the head and said, "Me too. What time is it?" Tohru glanced at the clock on the table and it said, "4:03 AM" Tohru said, "Oh my gosh! Tokiko you need sleep! Go lay down right now!" Tokiko was already asleep in a chair by Tohru's bed. Tohru giggled and laid back down and fell asleep. Ayame and Kureno had went to a nearby store to buy drinks and snacks. Hatori was staring intensely at Akito as she slept. He thought to himself, "Did she really push her? She's been acting differently lately....she would've admitted it if she really did push her.." Ayame walked into the room and said, "She's still sleep?" Kureno said, "She's supposed to be...the doctor gave her meds about 2 hours ago cause she wouldn't rest." Hatori said, "I suppose...we should get some rest too. In the morning, we'll see how Akito's doing and go see Tohru."
     Isuzu was back at the Estate. She had went to Haru's house but he was not there. She said, "That's weird...I wonder where he is...and he's not picking up the phone." She walked to Momiji's house and knocked. No answer. She walked to Hatori's house and knocked. Still no answer. She was getting rather irritated because where was everybody! Isuzu walked to Hiro's house. He was the second closest person to her other than Haru. She knocked and luckily he answered the door. He said, "Rin? What are you doing here at 4 in the morning? Rin said, "No one is home and I have no idea where they are." Hiro rolled his eyes and said, "Come in. My mom and dad are asleep so try to be quiet." Rin walked in the house and said, "Somethings wrong..." Hiro said, "What do ya mean?" Rin said, "Something is starting to change...and I need to know what. Don't you feel different Hiro?" He said, "No, the only thing I'm feeling right now is fatigue." Rin rolled her eyes and said, "I'm serious... somethings changing...something big..."
