Tohru's Little Sister

Chapter 22

    Tokiko stared Momiji in the eyes one last time before running after Tohru. She finally stopped outside a nearby bathroom when she heard her sister. Tokiko walked into the bathroom and stopped in her tracks when she saw Tohru crouched down on the floor holding herself. She was rocking back and forth crying. Both Momiji and Kyo were too stunned to move or speak. For one, they just confessed their love to the sisters and for two, the sisters feel the same way. Tokiko ran to Tohru and hugged her. Tohru turned around and cried into Tokiko's chest. Tohru said, "Oh To-Chan! Why did that have to happen like that? I didn't want to tell Kyo-kun in that way! It hurts so much! Why?!" Tokiko rubbed Tohru's back and said, "We were forced into a situation that was so sudden. Momiji just confessed to me...everything I was hoping wasn't true...turned out to be true."
    Tohru started to cry harder. Kyo was still stuck in place. Yuki walked over to him and slapped him. He said, "What the hell are you doing?! Why didn't you go after her?" Kyo said, "It didn't feel right in that moment...She told me she loved me, but it felt so distant. What was I supposed to say once I chased after her huh?! You have no idea you idiot rat!" Kyo pushed past Yuki and walked back into the classroom. Momiji turned to walk back to his classroom. His heart both ached in joy and fear. He wanted Tokiko to love him, but a huge part of him did not. What was he to do? He walked back into the classroom and sat at his desk. Haru walked over to him and said, "So...what happened?" Momiji was stuck in a daze. Haru rolled his eyes and walked back to his seat. Tohru and Tokiko were still in the bathroom.
    Tokiko said, "Tohru stand up. We're going to the counselor's office. I don't want to go back to class and I'm sure you don't either." Tohru stood up and Tokiko guided her to the counselors office. Tokiko knocked and said, "Mrs. Tachibana? May we come in?" A voice said, "Of course!" Tokiko opened the door to reveal the guidance counselor. Tokiko pulled a chair up for Tohru and they both sat down. Mrs. Tachibana said, "What brings the Honda sisters to my office?" Tokiko said, "I was wondering if we could sit in your office for the rest of the day? We've had a pretty rough morning." Mrs. T said, "Sure! I'll have 2 trays sent to my office for lunch! Is everything ok?" Tokiko said, "Yea, it is." Tohru said, "Is there anyway we could get our classes changed?" Mrs. T said, "Ms. Tohru, it's well into the school year, but I'm pretty sure we can get you and your sister switched to different classes." Tohru said, "Thank you."
    Tokiko really didn't wanna leave her class, but she knew why Tohru wants it changed. Uotani said, "Where the hell is Tohru?!" She growled and walked over to Kyo who was still stunned. She snatched him by the collar and said, "What did you do to her?! Where is she?!" Kyo said, "I don't know!! I talked to her, she started crying and then she ran away..." Uotani said, "What did you say to her to make her cry?" Hanajima said, "He proclaimed his love for her." Kyo shot Hanajima a death stare. Uotani let go of Kyo's shirt. She said, "She probably went to look for her sister. Tohru's the oldest, but she treats Tokiko like the big sister." Hanajima said, "I agree." Kyo said to himself, "How did ghost girl know I confessed...." Tokiko and Tohru were in a way better mood after talking with Mrs. Tachibana. They ate lunch with her and even took a nap in her office. The bell rang and school was over. Tohru jolted up and said, "Thank you for today Mrs. T. We needed this, please excuse us." Tohru grabbed Tokiko's hand and rushed out her office. Tohru said, "We have to leave now or we'll run into them again." Tokiko was about to step foot out the door before she was lifted off the ground. Uotani had placed Tokiko on her shoulder. She said, "Where are you guys off to?"
     Tohru said, "Girls! I'm glad to see you, would you mind walking home with us?" Hanajima said, "Not at all, I also have you girls bags." Tohru said, "Thank you so much. We completely forgot about them." Tohru said, "Well...let's go!" The 4 girls quickly walked to the Honda sisters house. Momiji rushed out the school 10 minutes later and said, "Guys they probably left already." Yuki said, "Dang it! Well...there's nothing we can do but go home." Kyo said, "That's not fucking fair! They don't get to runaway and avoid us! They're our family!" Haru said, "Be rational Kyo, they haven't wrapped their head completely around this situation. Tokiko's not even fully healed from that fight with Akito. They need time." Yuki nodded in agreement. The 4 walked back to Shigure's house. The 4 girls reached the Honda house.
    Tohru said, "Ok! This is our stop." Uotani put Tokiko down and Tokiko said, "I wish you guys could live with us.." Hanajima said, "That sounds amazing, but my parents wouldn't allow it." Uotani said, "I can't leave my pops at home alone." Tokiko said, "I understand. See you tomorrow guys!" Hanajima and Uotani walked back home. Tohru went into the house and took a warm bath. Tokiko was upstairs in her room. She saw that book on her nightstand. She got so angry she threw the book at the wall. She said, "Why did YOU have to be my guardian angel?!" She calmed herself down and went to pick up the book. Tohru finished in the bath and put on her robe. She yelled upstairs, "Tokiko! We're having ramen for dinner!" Tokiko yelled back, "Ok!" Tohru started on dinner. Once the 4 boys reached Shigure's house, Momiji and Haru set off for home.
     Yuki and Kyo enter the house. Shigure came around the corner and said, "Any luck with the girls?" Yuki and Kyo side eye Shigure and he said, "I guess not. Dinner is in the oven good night." Tohru and Tokiko ate their ramen. Tohru said, "Tokiko we have to leave at least 10 minutes early to beat them to school tomorrow. Mrs. Tachibana said to talk with Mr. Tomokai in the morning about moving our classes." Tokiko nodded and went up to her room. Everyone fell asleep anticipating the next day. Tohru woke up Tokiko 10 minutes earlier as she said she would. They quickly got ready and headed to the school. They went to their classes and informed their teachers about the class switch and that they needed to meet with the principal.
    Their teachers gave them permission and they went towards his office. Tokiko and Tohru walked up to the office. Tohru was about to knock when they seen a tall gray haired person was already in the office. Tokiko looked through the glass and eyed the man. Tokiko said, "He's hot, but his hand gestures give me gay vibes." Tohru laughed and rolled her eyes. Tohru knocked and Mr. Tomokai motioned for them to enter the office. Tohru said, "Good morning Mr. Tomokai and excuse us. Mrs. Tachibana told us to meet with you this morning about our class switch." Mr. Tomokai said, "Aah yes! Girls please have a seat. I'll finish up with Mr. Sohma then I'll attend to you." Tokiko and Tohru looked at each other and said, "SOHMA?!!!"
