Tohru's Little Sister

Chapter 28

    Tokiko kept running until she seen both her mom and dad standing holding each other. She gave them a big hug. Tokiko started to cry and said, "I can't believe I can see you guys again!! By the way, where am I?" Kyoko said, "Honey, we're in the center of the universe. You're both everywhere and nowhere all at the same time." Tokiko said, "What? That's very confusing, but anyway why am I here?" Katsuya said, "We have no idea toucan, but while we're here why don't we have a little talk?" Tokiko held both Kyoko's and Katsuya's hand as they walked. Katsuya said, "You've always wanted to be an only child, right Tokiko?" Tokiko looked up and said, "How did you know that?" Kyoko said, "You think I just ignored the reason you hated Tohru? You have no idea how many nights Tohru had cried to me cause you hated her." Katsuya said, "You've resented your sister all these years for something she couldn't control. When all she tried to do everything to protect you." Tokiko rolled her eyes and said, "If I'm here for a lecture, I rather leave." Katsuya said, "Calm down dear, stay awhile. Let's take a trip down memory lane." Kyoko snaps her fingers and they were standing in their old living room. Tokiko said, "We're at our apartment! How did you do that?" Kyoko said, "That's a long story hunny." Just then, past Kyoko walked around the corner with a huge belly bump. Katsuya pointed and said, "She was pregnant with you in this memory Tokiko."
    Kyoko walked into a room to reveal little Tohru crying. Kyoko waddled over to her and asked her why she was crying. She said, "I don't wanna be a big sister! I wanna be the baby!" Kyoko patted Tohru on the head and said, "No baby, you'll love your little sister ok?" Tohru shook her head No and said, "No! I hate her!" And ran out the room. Tokiko's eyes went wide to see that Tohru didn't even want her to be born. Let alone that she hated the thought of her. Kyoko said, "In actuality Tokiko, both of you resented each other for something you had no control over." Katsuya said, "On to the next memory." He snapped his fingers and they were inside a hospital. Past Katsuya walked inside the room with little Tohru holding his hand. Kyoko was laying in the hospital bed with little Tokiko in her arms. Tokiko said, "Awww I was such a cute baby!" Katsuya said, "You sure were! What happened?" Tokiko nudged his side and he started to laugh. Past Katsuya lifted Tohru up so she could see little Tokiko. Tohru moved the blanket back and it revealed Tokiko's bright orange hair. Tohru lightly patted her hair and little Tokiko wrapped her hand around Tohru's finger. Tohru eyes widen as she fell in love with her little sister. She gushed, "Oh my gosh! Look at her little hand! She's so cute! Momma I wanna hold her!" 
     Old Katsuya and Kyoko started to laugh. Tokiko said, "So she warmed up to the thought of me...once she met me?" Katsuya said, "Exactly Tokiko. Tohru really did love her little sister. Just after meeting you. How precious!" Kyoko started to wipe her eyes. Tokiko said, "Momma why are you crying?" Kyoko said, "I remember this day like it was yesterday. You were the most beautiful little girl, you looked exactly like me! Even had my hair color! I treasured you dearly." Tokiko started to blush. Katsuya snapped his fingers and they were back in that blank area. Tokiko said, "Thank you guys for showing me that. It made me put Tohru into an entirely different light." Kyoko said, "Of course sweetheart, we just want you twos relationship to be better. After all, you're all each other has." Katsuya said, "Your mothers brother in law owes me his life for what he did to Tohru, but he will get what's coming to him." Tokiko said, "You know about that?! Tohru and I haven't spoken on it since it happened." Kyoko said, "You should talk to her....it's been taking a huge toll on her. More than she'll ever reveal to you." Tokiko said, "How do you know this?" Katsuya said, "Your mother and I hear all your prayers. We see your dreams and hear when you call on us for help. We're grateful for our beautiful girls and we love you very much."
      Tokiko blushed and said, "You see our dreams?" Kyoko said, "Yes we do....and I think Momiji is a fine boy." Tokiko turned bright red and said, "What?! No one cares about Momiji." Katsuya said, "I can't tell!! You dream about him almost every single night. I wanna meet this boy, but from your dreams and prayers, he seems very nice. I remember you calling him your "guardian angel" and I think that's just precious." Kyoko said, "You guys relationship reminds me much of me and your fathers." Tokiko said, "How? You're so glitter rainbows and sparkles and Daddy is so death chains and dark Vader." Kyoko and Katsuya started to laugh. Katsuya said, "Once upon a time your mother was very fierce. That was one of the many things that attracted me to her. Your mother used to be in a gang and her name was the Crimson Butterfly." Tokiko said, "The Crimson Butterfly...I remember Uotani mentioned that name awhile ago...she was talking about momma?!" Kyoko said, "Yup, I was the baddest chick there was!" Katsuya laughed and said, "Who I made all mine!" Kyoko started to laugh. Tokiko said, "So daddy you used to be kind or whatever?" Katsuya said, "Yes, I didn't pick up my mean stature until after we got married."
     Tokiko started to yawn and said, "I'm getting tired...I'm gonna take a nap." Tokiko closed her eyes and later on woke up. She yawned and Kyoko and Katsuya were standing over her. Kyoko said, "Tokiko, it's time for you to go back now." Tokiko stood up and said, "What? I've only been here for a day." Katsuya said, "Actually you've been here for 2 weeks. Time doesn't expand as fast as it does in reality." Tokiko said, "What?! But how?" Kyoko said, "We really can't explain it sweetheart, but Tohru needs you back in the real world." Tokiko said, "But I don't wanna leave you guys..." Katsuya said, "Don't be that way Toucan...look (snaps fingers and their looking at an image of Tohru in her bed crying)" Tokiko said, "Is this the present? Why is she crying?" Kyoko placed a hand on Tokiko's shoulder and said, "It is...Tohru is worried sick about you. The hospital ordered her to leave after being there for 3 days. Waiting for you to wake up. You have to return....your sister needs you Tokiko." Tokiko turned to both Kyoko and Katsuya and said, "But I need you guys more..." Katsuya patted Tokiko on the head and said, "Toucan....We love you and we'll always be with you, even if you can't see us or hear us. But you have to go now. We'll see each other again...in maybe the next 80 years." Tokiko said, "80 years?! Why so faraway?" Kyoko laughed and said, "We want you to live a long and happy life..." Tokiko said, "Oh....but I'm gonna miss you." Tokiko tried to run to her parents and give them a hug, but she ran right through them and fell into a hole.
