As for the Desolation's of Devils Acre..
I was on page 200-something, and honestly it's not bad. I'm not a huge fan of the writing style, and I can't tell if it's always been like that or it's changed. Whenever I pick up book 1 I just internally sob and feel so nostalgic like picking up that book feels like picking up one of my organs it is part of me at this point. So maybe the writing has always been off but I just don't realize it because the first 3 books are so instrumental to me as a person. Anyway.
I just wanted to get something out there. Thanks for seeing this. Also I sound insane but that's okay.
