I woke up to an empty bed, once again. 𝘐 𝘮𝘪𝘴𝘴 𝘩𝘦𝘳 𝘴𝘰 𝘮𝘶𝘤𝘩. It had been weeks since Tammy left to help Debbie with her heist. And I hated every second of it. I felt lost without her. She made me feel alive. She was the reason I woke up in the mornings. I struggled since she went away. But I tried to stay hopeful. She will come back. I partially calmed down before swinging my legs over the end of the bed and getting up to shower. The shower was hot and refreshing, allowing me to calm down and try to forget about my loneliness. And it seemed to work. But everything is temporary so when I got out the shower, the dreadful feeling returned. I frowned and gave up trying to make it go away. She was the only one who could make it go away. She is my everything.

After blow-drying my hair and putting it in messy bun, I put some comfy house clothes on and plopped down on the couch for yet another lazy day binging Netflix. Scrolling through my list made me smile as I remembered me and Tammy binging them. We would sit on the couch with a mountain of pillows and blankets along with loads of snacks. We would cuddle, my head on her lap as she would caress and play with my hair, occasionally quietly singing a song until I fell asleep by her side. I missed those days. They would happen again, the main question was when. I realised I had zoned out in thought and shook my head in an attempt to wake myself up. I picked a movie and got comfy after quickly getting some popcorn and hot chocolate for the movie.

The credits began and I sighed before leaning up and stretching my arms. I got up and grabbed the empty mug and bowl to wash up in the kitchen. As I was drying my hands with a kitchen towel, I heard my phone ringing from the living room. I threw the towel on the counter and jogged to get the phone, hoping it was her. And my wishes were granted when I saw the contact name on my phone screen. Tammy. It was her. I jumped on the sofa and pressed the green accept button. "Tammy?" I felt tears in my eyes and when I heard her voice, I sobbed with a big smile on my face. "Hi baby." Her voice was sweet but sounded weak, as if she had been crying. "Oh god Tam, I've missed you so much." I cried on the other line as I heard her chuckle and shush my crying. "Awh I've missed you too sweetie," I sniffled and wiped my tears off my cheeks. "The heist is done, I'm coming home baby." I shrieked and danced around the living room, crying tears of pure happiness at this point. "I can't wait to see you TamTam, It's been so hard without you." She awh'd at my words before replying. "I can't even begin to explain how excited I am to hold you again." I heard her voice crack and sniffled on the other end of the phone. "Me too, I miss you." I smiled brightly and we talked for a bit before she had to go as she began driving home, to her home with me.

I paced near the front door, regularly checking the clock that sat on the wall. 𝘚𝘩𝘦 𝘴𝘩𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥 𝘣𝘦 𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦, 𝘸𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦 𝘪𝘴 𝘴𝘩𝘦? I started to panic, thinking the worst could have happened. I stopped moving and stood on the spot shaking slightly, my breathing quickened and I felt my heart beat getting faster with each passing second. My mind had got the better of me and I closed my eyes. 𝘐 𝘤𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥𝘯'𝘵 𝘴𝘵𝘰𝘱 𝘢 𝘱𝘢𝘯𝘪𝘤 𝘢𝘵𝘵𝘢𝘤𝘬 𝘰𝘯𝘤𝘦 𝘪𝘵 𝘩𝘢𝘥 𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘳𝘵𝘦𝘥. I fell to the floor and sat with my knees to my chest and my hands over my ears. I felt tears forming behind my sealed eyelids and I breathed fast and shakily. Suddenly I felt hands around me and I shot my eyes open, only to be greeted by Tammy's eyes looking back at me. I quickly wrapped my arms around her and hugged her tightly as she ushered reassurances to me that were inaudible from my state of mind. Then everything went black.

I awoke on the couch, alone. 𝘋𝘪𝘥 𝘐 𝘥𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘮 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘩𝘢𝘱𝘱𝘦𝘯𝘦𝘥? I sat up and looked around the quiet living room. "Hello? Tammy?" My voice echoed through the house and I was answered by silence. That was until Tammy's figure appeared from the kitchen with a glass of water and a bowl. "Hi honey." She smiled and put the meal on the coffee table as I stood up and jumped into a hug with her, my legs snaking around her waist. I cried loudly into her shoulder as she shushed me and rocked us back and forth. "𝙄'𝙫𝙚 𝙢𝙞𝙨𝙨𝙚𝙙 𝙮𝙤𝙪." I spoke as tears soaked her cream sweater. "I've missed you too sweetie, more than you think." I pulled my head of her shoulder and our gazes met. God how I missed her eyes. The safety and security I missed as she was gone returned and I felt on top of the world when I was near her. She smiled in the most adorable way and then our lips met in a loving, soft kiss. That's when I realised, a home wasn't a place. She is my home.
