The day went by slow and it was more tedious than any other school day. To Eddie, anyways. All he had on his mind the entire day was Richie.

Richie.

Richie.

Richie.

Worst of all, he hadn't even made up his mind about whether or not he was going to be Richie's date to this party. Richie's fake date. But Eddie still had so many questions. Whose party was it? Why was Richie so dead set on him to be his date? What would being his date entail? What if it gets too awkward?

As the final bell rang, Eddie had to mentally prepare himself for Richie, as he still hadn't given him an answer about whether or not he would go with him or not.

Eddie speed walked his way out of his last period and over to his locker, trying to hurry up, but he wasn't fast enough.

Richie slammed his locker shut for him, causing Eddie to practically jump out of his skin once again. "Jesus Christ, Rich—"

"Have you made up your mind yet?" He hissed. Eddie froze. His anxiety was starting to kick in, as he had no idea what to say.

"Well?" Richie asked, folding his arms across his chest, awaiting for a response. Eddie shook his head. Why am I so nervous? He thought, It's just Richie. What's he gonna do?

"No, I haven't." He said boldly.

Richie scoffed, "Well, you owe me an answer by tomorrow night—"

"I don't owe you anything." Eddie shot back, interrupting Richie.

Richie wasn't really surprised by Eddie, as he was the only person to ever really stand up to Richie and tell him what's what.

Just as Richie was about to go off on Eddie, an idea struck him. He smirked, wrapping his arm around Eddie, forcing him to walk with him. Richie pushes open the doors and walks Eddie out.

Yes, Eddie could have shoved him off, but in all honesty he didn't really want to. He kind of enjoyed being pushed around my Richie. He enjoyed it when he pissed Richie off so much to the point of him being kind to him.

"Look, you have to go with me. The losers are going, so in others words, you're going—"

"So what?" Eddie interrupted Richie once again, "I wouldn't care if the queen of England herself were going. I wouldn't go."

Richie sighed. "Eddie...come on! I seriously need you to go with me—"

"Need, or want me to go with you?"

"Need!" He said. Eddie could tell he was getting frustrated, and he enjoyed it.

"Look, if you go with me, I'll never ask you for anything again. Ever."

Eddie couldn't help but laugh, "I highly doubt that, Richie—"

"I'm serious!" He persisted.

They stopped in front of their street. Eddie folded his arms across his chest and sighed, "If I do happen to agree to go with you, what's in it for me?" Richie shrugged.

"Well, what do you want?"

Eddie felt so much power in that very moment. He thought about his answer for a second, before smirking. "If I go..." he paused dramatically just to make Richie anxious, but that proved to be unsuccessful, simply because Richie Tozier doesn't get nervous.

"You have to be nice for a change." He could see Richie's smile drop and his furrowed his brow in disgust.

"No fucking way." He turned away from Eddie, arms folded across his chest.

Eddie chuckled, "Fine then, but looks like you'll just have to find another "date" for that party..."

Richie thought about it for a moment, and just as Eddie was about to make his way down the sidewalk and towards his home, Richie grabbed grabbed a hold of his wrist, spinning him around and getting in Eddie's face.

"Fine, but only for a day." He hissed.

Eddie didn't know how to react. Richie was all up in his face and he liked it.

He liked it.

He liked it.

He liked it?

Why did he like it? This was suppose to be threatening, why does Eddie like this? Nobody likes being threatened.

Eddie just nodded and agreed. "O-Okay," he agreed, "Only for a day."

7:35 pm

As Eddie lay in his bed, every memory from today flooded his brain. He sighed a frustrated sigh, What am I doing? He asked himself, What is wrong with me? He sits up, pulling his knees up to his chest.

Okay, it's only one party, he told himself, trying anything to calm his nerves. It's not like Richie's my actual date.

He reached over to grab the remote to his tv, taking another approach to calming his nerves, as the ladder wasn't working in the slightest. He turned it on some random channel and tried paying attention to what was going on, but every time he thought he was paying attention, his mind would go right back to Richie.

He then began thinking about him again. All the memories from today coming back, hitting him all at once.

"Why'd you kiss me if you don't like me?" Richie's voice rang throughout his mind.

"Come on, it's the rules. You have to kiss me!" He remembered the cheeky smile Richie had plastered on his face when he said that. Just like that, the kiss came to mind.

Oh, how savory it was. Even though it only lasted a good two seconds, it still made Eddie's heart ache. He couldn't help but smile just thinking about it.
