Eddie's eyes widened and his face reddened. He didn't know what to say to that, so he just sat there; mortified by the question.

Did he feel something?

Why on earth would he ask him that?

No. Yes? Maybe?

Eddie suddenly remembered that Richie was drunk, so he was probably just asking him that to be stupid.

Eddie was about to roll his eyes at Richie's dumb question, until he realized how serious Richie looked.

Why is this so confusing? He thought.

Answer him! He's waiting for an answer!

"Uhm...I-Wh-What do you mean?" Eddie knew exactly what he meant. He just needed to buy some time so he could think of something to say.

"I-Uh.." he glanced over at Richie, nervously.

He shuddered, "You...know what? Never mind." Richie stands up.

"Didn't you wanna get outta here?" He held out his hand for Eddie to grab. He hesitated before grabbing his hand, but as soon as he pulled him up, Eddie pulled away.

"Do you wanna talk?" Was all he asked.

The ladder stood with his hands folded over his chest, a small, clearly fake, grin plastered on his face.

"Ah...About what?"

Eddie glared at Richie, but Richie only found this more cute instead of intimidating.

"I-Come on, I'm gonna get you home now, okay-"

"I can't go home, remember?" Eddie reminded him.

Richie furrowed his eyebrows before Eddie jogged his memory a bit more.

"I lied to my mom and told her I would be at Stan's for the weekend."

"Right..." Richie sighed, "We'll figure something out."

The night was cold. Colder than usual. It was almost winter, so the air was going to be more crisp and cool than what Eddie was used to.
