Chapter 1: First impressions (Erik's POV)

We landed an hour ago and now I'm in my hotel room getting ready to take a shower. I still don't understand why we are here in Puliama. It's a small, undeveloped country and I don't think that the citizens here are excited to see the royal family that has nothing to do with them, speaks different language and lives thousands of miles away.

But here I am, taking a shower before leaving the hotel with my family and going in a well-known club in the center of the city.

Since when do royals go to nightclubs? I mumbled to myself.

I watched my reflection in the bathroom mirror. My face showed signs of tiredness and I just wanted to drop in bed. I put on a black t-shirt, black jeans and black leather jacket, I looked more like a bad boy than a prince.

I sighed while putting a cologne and suddenly my stomach went in knots. The hell? I mumbled to myself again.

I left the bathroom, grabbed my phone that was thrown on the bed and left my room. My parents and my brother Cassian were already in the lobby.

"Finally," my father said looking at me.

"How did you find this place?" I asked my parents while we were headed to the hotel doors.

"The hotel manager told us about it," my father answered.

"Since when the royal family goes out in a night club?" My brother asked the question that I've been dying to ask.

"Since we decided that we need a more modern approach to the world," my mom said looking at us.

Me and my brother exchanged looks. He is 2 years older than me, I'm 23 he is 25. His name is Cassian. Even though we are adults, sometimes our parents still bring us everywhere with them. Family bonding I guess.

A car was waiting for us, the president of Puliama ordered a car that will be available for us at any moment. He even emailed us that he can send another car at any moment If we insist going separately.

How generous of him.

The ride to the club was silent for the majority of the time. Everyone was tired from the trip but they refused to cancel the night out.

"This club is well-known in the whole region, even across borders" my mum explained.

"I guess it's the most successful business in the whole region" my brother chuckled.

"Well yes, this part of the world isn't developed much, but they say the people here are kind and hospitable"

"We will see"

The car stopped and we entered the club. I was surprised by the interior, which was definitely inspired by the 80s, the whole vibe just hits different when you are in there. It's nice to see a retro club in all this modern madness. Every corner was well decorated, it had a big bar in the middle, and red chairs around it. The place even had pinball machines.

"Cool" Cassian nodded.

We sat on one big sofa in the corner of the club. The waiter came and started speaking something in their language which obviously we don't understand.

"Sorry, can you repeat that in English," I asked.

"Oh, I'm so sorry. What can I serve you with?" He asked.

We ordered beer for each of us. I looked around and was quite amazed, the music was energetic, the dance floor was huge but there weren't many people at the time. It was still early for the party to start. The employees were laughing at something, dancing around, their eyes were sparkling. I've never seen more happy employees in my life, they must love working here.

The waiter came back with our beers and when he turned to leave, I turned to him "Who owns this place? It's amazing I'm not going to lie."

"The owner is Ana, very sweet, young lady. She will be here at 9 sharp, I can introduce you to her," he smiled.

"That would be great,"

He chuckled looking at me "Be careful, she is very energetic,"

"Oh, anything else that I should know about her?" I raised my eyebrows. My parents were carefully listening to him, while Cassian winked at me. I pretended to fix my eyebrow with my middle finger looking at him.

"Depending on what drink she will order before her arrival, I can tell you if she's in the mood for talking or not," he laughed

"She has different order for different moods?" I asked surprised. Who does that?

"Oh yes. If she orders beer that means she's been drinking something else before, if she orders red wine means she is depressed, white whine means she will have a business meeting and vodka means that she is in the mood for partying and talking," he explained.

I was about to say something, but another person said "She ordered tequila and vodka for tonight. You know the vibe," the girl smiled looking at her co-worker.

"What does tequila mean?" my mother asked

"That means she had sex last night," the waiter laughed and went to prepare her drinks.

Me and my family exchanged looks and started laughing.

"I guess she is a very interesting girl," Cassian said.

A moment later we heard a loud laugh and we all looked at the entrance. She went in, danced at the music that was playing, took the tequila shot and started talking to the stuff. She was flowing through the space like a butterfly. Her outfit matched the 80s aesthetic, her hair was blow-dried and full of volume.

I blinked once, then twice, a strange feeling rushed through my veins.

She is so fricking beautiful.

"That must be her," my father said "And she has a lot of energy" he added.

"She does," my mother agreed.

The waiter was telling her something and he pointed in our direction. Her eyes met mine and my hearth dropped. Suddenly I forgot where I was. Her dark eyes were fixed on mine and her witty smile made me nervous.

Is this a love at first sight. No, it can't be. That doesn't happen that easy.

"Someone told me that my presence was requested at this table," she smirked looking at me. Then she took a second look at all of us "Oh my gods, you are the royal family from Vremineian," she said.

"Yes, we are," my father said.

"Damn. Oh, sorry. I- um.. I don't really know how to behave in front of royals, people like you aren't regular in my country," she smiled moving with her hands in different directions. I always find it interesting when people move their hands while explaining something.

We all laughed.

"Just treat us as normal people," I said.

"Okay. Now, may I ask why you asked for me?" she turned to all of us.

"I was just curious who owned the place. I like this bar, it's fantastic," I said.

"Thank you. I hope you're not interested in taking it away from me" she giggled "I'm really proud of it, hell I even like this place more than my own house," she laughed. "Now if you excuse me, I should go and give directions to my employees," and she left.

I watched as she was talking to the waiters. They love her, I could tell that by the way they behaved.

"Erik!" my mother called me.

"Yes?" I answered, confused.

They laughed. "What's so funny?" I asked.

"She caught your attention," Cassian said laughing.

I didn't say anything to that, I finished my beer and ordered another one.
