Chapter 3: Invitation (Erik's POV)
I was sitting on the sofa in my hotel room fighting with my phone in my hands. I don't know what happened to me but since last night I feel like my brain is absent. It keeps going back at that bar and that girl. She was beautiful, witty and energetic... she is something I've never experienced before. All the ladies I've met in my life were too mannered and followed every rule possible. They would bow at the very moment they realized I was a prince. Or if they were already princesses they would do everything to get under my or my parent's skin. Ana simply didn't care.
It would be nice to see her again.
At the very moment that thought popped inside of my head I decided to look for her. I quickly showered and put on a regular jeans with black V-neck. I styled my hair up and a little bit on the right and grabbed my phone.
I opened the door and saw my brother ready to knock.
"Are go going somewhere? I was about to call you for breakfast." He raised his brows at me
"Actually, I'm going to explore the city, see you later." I said and walked down the hallway.
"Be back till 1pm, we have royal duties to finish"
"Fine." I replied.
I didn't know where I was headed. The club probably is closed through the day but her café must be open. I was standing in the lobby when I saw the hotel manager.
"Excuse me" I turned to him
"Yes?"
"I heard that the owner of the club that we went yesterday also owns a café. Do you maybe know where that café is?" I asked
"Of course. It's a few blocks down from the club. The name of the café is , you won't miss it."
"Great, thank you" I said and turned towards the door.
"You are welcome"
I stormed through the door and saw the car that was assigned for us. I told the driver that I don't need his service today, I just wanted to walk around. I didn't know what I would say to her, nor did I know if I was doing the right thing. Showing up at someone's work isn't always a good idea.
Minutes later I found the café and I saw her sitting there working on her laptop. I watched her from outside of the windows, she was deeply focused on her work. Her dark hair was falling in front of her face and she constantly tucked it behind her ears. The café looked very sweet from the outside, there were few tables in front of it, the windows were big and the door looked vintage. The building was decorated with flowers and right under them the sign Olive Oasis was put.
I entered and the hanging bells rang. She lifted her head up and her eyes met mine.
"Busy much?" I smirked at her.
"Prince Erik, what a pleasant surprise."
"May I sit?" I pointed at the empty chair at her table.
"Of course, please." She giggled looking right into my eyes. I felt like she was staring into my soul with her dark brown almost black eyes. Her gaze is so intense I felt my blood rushing through my veins.
"So, how did you find me?" she asked.
"Um-well, one of your employees said that you own a café near the club, so I decided to visit, hoping that I will find you here." I explained
"And why were you hoping to see me here?" she smirked, closing her laptop so she can focus on our conversation.
I don't know what to say. Damn it, think, think. I was about to smack my head, but I remembered where I was.
"Let's say I enjoy your company" I finally answered
We continued to talk for two hours. I asked about the bar, the café, how she started everything, how she manages everything, and I must say I'm impressed how good she is in all of it. Well, of course, she puts her whole hearth and passion into it. The interior was cozy and cute. The bar was smaller compared to the one in the club and it had a fresh baked cookies for every to-go order. For the orders in the café they gave a fortune cookie. The tables were reminding me of a small village house with beautiful backyard that had comfortable chairs to sit on. Ana mentioned that he café and the club were all out of her imagination. She said that she lived her biggest dreams at that moment.
I took a sip of the coffee that I ordered and opened my fortune cookie. I unfolded the piece of paper and blinked at the message, it was written on their language.
"Do you want me to translate it?" she asked
"No. Don't you know the rule of fortune cookies?"
She raised a brow at me "Noo"
"You should not tell the message to anyone and keep it with you until you are able to set the paper on fire. Also, you should it the cookie right away, or the fortune won't come true"
"Damn it, that must be the reason why they never come true for me" she giggled.
I pulled my phone out of pocket and scanned the text with the translator scanner. I froze at the translation ~You will know when you see them and they will know when they see you~
"Is it a beautiful message?"
"It-it's confusing" I mumbled "But never mind, I actually came here for something else. Would you like to have a dinner with me tonight"
She raised her eyebrows in surprise "Damn, royals just won't leave me alone"
"Do you want me to leave you alone?" I asked little disappointed, laying mu back at chair.
She laughed "No, no" she kept laughing "I was joking, I would love to get dinner with you".
I sighed on the inside "Great, does 8pm work for you?" I asked
"Yes. Do you know a place, or do you want me to make a reservation?"
I forgot that I didn't know any restaurants in the city.
"You pick the place please, I don't know anything around." I giggled nervously.
How stupid am I? I'm inviting her on a date, but I don't know where to take her. Wait, date? Is this a date?
"Okay, I will text you the details. Just give me your number."
I gave her the number and we said goodbye moments later. I had to go back to the hotel because today we had our meeting with the citizens of Puliama. I hate royal duties.
I entered the hotel and saw Cassian sitting in the lobby watching something on his phone.
"Hey" I approached him.
"Hey bro" he lifted his head "Where have you been?"
"Around" I nodded
He smirked "And what did you see around, a girl maybe?"
"What?" I blinked at him.
"Are you sure you just wanted to explore the city? Erik, you didn't even want to come here, we barely got you out of your room yesterday and today you jumped out of bed, put a ton of cologne and explored the city" he raised his eyebrows "Look you are blushing"
"Oh come on! I went at Ana's café, it's not a big deal" I waved with my hand
"Yeah, right" he smirked and continued looking at his phone.
I got up and walked towards the elevator, I touched my cheeks and they were burning.
