Chapter 14: Threat (Ana's POV)

We spent the night at the cottage and came back early in the morning. Yesterday was so beautiful and I wished to never come back at the palace. Erik keeps assuring me that everything is okay and that I should not worry about his uncle but I can't stop thinking about it. Something isn't right and their silence is kind of suspicious.

I was walking towards my study when I heard voices form a closed room. I didn't know which room was that but I assumed it's either Issaac's study or Andreis's. They were talking in their language and I couldn't understand a word, only thing that I understood was when Issaac said my name with angry voice.

Can they leave me alone?

I entered my study and opened the laptop. I have to start learning that language. I cursed and started reading yesterday's report. I left the club to Viktor under my father's supervision and for the café was responsible Toni. The business run as usual and there weren't any things that would make me worry. I trusted those guys and I know they wouldn't fail me.

I heard a knock on the door.

"Yes?"

"It's Issaac, may I come in?"

I groaned silently "Yes".

He opened the door and closed silently behind him. Then he walked towards my desk and sat on one of the chairs.

"How can I help you sir?"

"Listed dear, I will be very quick." He cleared his throat "Let's not make any more drama. Go and pack yourself and go home. You don't belong here"

I raised my eyebrows "Can you explain to me, why do I not belong here?"

"You are an ordinary girl and I know you know it. Plus, you can't think you can just come here and enjoy our royal treasure. Who do you think you are to come and use our title, our power and our money into you advantage? If you are a gold digger, just say so" he explained calmly.

I chuckled "Yes maybe am an ordinary girl, but what makes you think I want your money, power and title?" I laughed "I do have my own money, power and influence, I don't need yours. And with all due respect sir, but I worked my ass off to obtain my wealth and power, unlike all of you who just lay on your ancestor achievements" I crossed my fingers and rested my chin on them smirking.

His face got full of anger "I asked you kindly, but since you are not cooperating then I won't be sorry for the consequences" he stood up.

"Are you threating me?" I looked up at him.

"Maybe" he opened the door and left.

That's it. Two days ago I said to myself that I will not interfere but now that he threatened me I can't stay silent. My stubbornness kicked in and there's no coming back. At that point it was more about me than Erik and everybody else.

I called Erik on the phone because I was too lazy to look for him around the palace.

"Yes sweetie"

"Hey, I just wanted to let you know that I will go in the city to explore it. I'll be back by lunch."

"Um-are you sure you can go alone? You can get lost"

"Erik, Google maps exist" I rolled my eyes.

"Okay okay" he laughed.

I ended the call and went to our room to change. I put on a colorful shirt and blue denim shorts. When I walked out of the palace a car was already waiting for me. I guess Erik ordered it.
