Chapter 8: Leaving (Ana's POV)
One week later
I couldn't sleep last night, anxiety, fear and excitement stormed through my body. To be honest I don't think my trip there will be only shopping and running around the palace, because I'm starting to realize that I may be catching feelings for Erik. I let out a sight. I wish I knew what I was doing. It was to soon to say I'm feeling something for him, I knew that, but from the very first moment I saw him, I knew, he is something special.
In the past six days we've planned everything but I still didn't feel a hundred percent ready to leave everything. I'm worried about the club and the café, they mean the world to me.
Ding dong the doorbell rang and snapped me out of my head. That must be Erik, "Come in!"
"Hey" he said kissing my cheek.
"Hey", his arms were behind his back and I tilted my head "Why are you holding your arms behind your back?"
"Because" he moved his hands in front of him "I brought you this" he handed me a bouquet of roses with a jewelry box in it.
"What's that?" I smiled, jumping a little. "Open it" he pointed at the box with his eyes.
I opened the box and saw a simple emerald necklace with few small diamonds around it, "Oh my...thank you, it's so beautiful" I kissed him on his cheek
He took the necklace in his hands and put it around my neck, he made sure it stays in place and kissed my shoulder. "It suits you"
"Thanks again" I put my hand on it and smiled at him.
"You don't have to thank me, you are my future wife, of course I will buy you gifts" he smiled
"Stop with the future wife thing" I smacked his arm
"I don't think I will" he smirked "Did you pack everything?"
"Yes"
We called a taxi and drank a cup of coffee while we waited. When the taxi came we quickly put everything in the trunk and I made sure I put all the blinds down the windows and checked if everything is turned off. I stood in my living room for a minute to say goodbye to my small and cozy home. I will miss you...
I gave Alissa to my parents, but I promised her that if I decide to move on the other side of the world forever, I will bring her with me.
We entered the taxi and thirty minutes later we arrived at the airport. We grabbed our bags and went in. Puliama's airport was small, it only had one terminal and two gates. For most of the destinations there wasn't even a flight. Once I had to change three flights just to visit a country that was four borders away from Puliama.
My parents and Toni were waiting for us inside. They've ordered coffee and some snacks. Judging by the amount of snacks eaten I was sure Toni ate twice more than my parents. He is always hungry especially for sweets.
"I thought you will never leave me" Toni said giving me puppy eyes and narrowed lips.
I rolled my eyes "Stop being so dramatic"
"You can come whenever you want" Erik said "And that applies to you too" he turned to my parents.
"Thank you, Prince Erik, I'm sure we will visit you when we get a chance" my mom smiled at him.
My father got closer to him pointing with his finger "If there's a piece of hair missing on her head..." he said and I rolled my eyes.
"You will kill me, I know" Erik replied, nodding.
"No" my father dismissed with his hand, "she will" and he pointed at me. I smiled shaking my head.
"Yeah" Erik nodded again, "I expect that from her"
We all laughed.
I glanced at the watch"We should hop on the plane" I said turning to my mom to hug her and she hugged me back tightly.
"Well kids, take care of each other, and Ana sweetie, don't forget about us" my dad said.
"Ohh, how could I?" I hugged him tight and then went and hugged Toni, "Bitch, if you don't call me every day, I will come and kick your ass" he said with threating look on his face.
"I promise I will call you, twice a day if you want" I smiled.
A saw a single tear going down my mom's cheek, then my dad's, then Toni's.
"Come on guys, I'm not going into war" I giggled my eyes got glossy, but I refused to cry, "I'll facetime you every day and you won't even notice that I'm not there. They all nodded at me and wiped the teras.
We hugged everyone one more time and hopped on the plane.
"Guards will be waiting un at the airport in Vermineian" Erik said
"Good" I looked out of the window "If there is something I need to know before arriving now is the time to tell me"
"Well, at the palace you will meet my uncle Issaac and his family. His wife Tatiana, their son Andries and their daughter, Eliza"
"Anything else I should know about them?" I turned to him.
He bit the inside of this cheek, "They may not be happy with you being there"
"And you are telling me now!?"
"I didn't want you to worry. Plus, no one cares what they think"
"But he is your uncle, a powerful member of the royal family and I'm nobody" I raised my eyebrows.
"You are not nobody!" his eyes darkened "You will be my wife and you will be as powerful as him, even more"
"Okay, but you should know one thing, I don't tolerate disrespect. If any of them insult me or disrespect me in some way, I'll forget about my manners and your royalty"
"And I won't stop you" he grabbed my hand.
The flight attendant came and served us with lunch and juice. The plate had mashed potato, beef and some vegetables.
"But, why would they hate me?" I asked while taking a bite from the food.
"Because they are more 'royal' than us"
"What does that mean?" I gave him a confused look.
"It means that they are more traditional"
Whatever that means. I mumbled.
After we ate I dozed off andErik played some games on his phone.
